HENNIE, Ms. Villa-Jeene - Age 56, passed away, Sunday, February 18, 2018 at Genesys Health Park-Grand Blanc, MI. Family Hour 11:00 AM Monday, February 26, 2018 at Metropolitan Baptist Tabernacle, 930 E. Myrtle Ave., with funeral service commencing at 12:00 PM Rev. Dr. Herbert L. Miller, II, officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church at 11:00 AM Monday. Ms. Hennie will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM Sunday. Ms. Villa-Jeene Hennie made her transition on February 18, 2018 at the age of 56. Villa was born on July 21, 1961 in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Beverly and the late William Eugene “Bo” Hennie always loved going to church to worship and praise the Lord. She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. Villa attended Vernon Chapel AME Church with her family before becoming a member of Metropolitan Baptist Tabernacle. She grew up in Flint attending Flint Community Schools, graduating from Flint Northwestern High School, “Class of 1979.” While growing up, Villa enjoyed playing in peoples hair and giving them crazy hairstyles. Which led to her passion of becoming a Cosmetologist. After graduating from high school she enrolled in Edwards School of Cosmetology, specializing in coloring and cutting hair. Villa possessed many talents while working with Herbert Jones. If you knew Villa, you knew she had her own style. She was our Fashion Diva who had an eccentric style for shoes, owning over more than 300 pairs. She had a passion for shopping, traveling, eating out and experiencing different types of cuisines. If you happened to call Villa on the phone 9 times out of 10 she would tell you to call her back, she was watching the Food Network Channel learning how to make new and exciting dishes. Villa loved spending time with her grandchildren and family. She always had a laughing hearty spirit. Villa had a chance to meet some of her favorite comedians, Cedric The Entertainer, DL Hughley, Eddie Griffin and George Lopez. She also enjoyed volunteering at Helping Hand Adult Foster Care Center as the Activities Coordinator. We all loved Villa, but God loved her best. Ms. Villa-Jeene Hennie leaves to cherish her memory: daughter, CorDéja Campbell; 2 sons, Cordarous (Britney) Young and Bennie (Harrisha) Campbell of Texas; grandsons, Zylin and Niy’Zeer; mother, Beverly Hennie-Wooten; sister, Monique Hennie; Brother, Andre Hennie; aunts, Theresa Allen, Pat Hennie and Bishop Bernadel Jefferson; uncles, William “Bill” Palmer and Gene (Freda) Leverette; god-mother, Sally Savage; special niece, Aundra Campbell; special sister cousins, Saundra Gordon and Tracy Palmer-Schultz, special brother cousins, Stephon Palmer and Milton (Luella) Alexander; special friend, Charles “Chuckie” Young; a host of cousins including, Kelly and Bobby (Kim) Palmer, all of Grand Rapids, MI, the Carroll, Marshall, Freeman and Palmer families; special sister friends, Deirdre Spight-Woodson, LaTina R. Jones, Yolanda “Yogi” Brown, Linda Rice and Laticia Young; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, Gloria & Pete Burns and family. Ms. Hennie was preceded in death by her grandparents, Rufus and Augusta “Gussie” Palmer, R.J. Hennie and Geraldine Hennie; aunts and uncles, Josephine & Tom Sims, Stephon Campbell; sister, Vickie Young; aunts, Martha Palmer and Rogean Alexander; uncles, Tyrone Hennie, Richard “Dicky” Palmer and Robert “Bobby” Palmer.
