OWENS, Mrs. Vickie Louise - Age 71, passed away Friday, June 13, 2025 at her residence. Family hour 10:00 AM Saturday, June 28, 2025 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM. Apostle Robert Bizzle, officiating. Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the chapel 10:00 AM Saturday, June 28, 2025. Mrs, Owens will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed Friday, June 27, 2025 from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM.Mrs. Vickie Louise Owens, whose name was later changed to Victoria was born May 6, 1954, in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of George and Celia Carter. Victoria graduated from Flint Northwestern High School, “Class of 1972.” She worked for the United States Postal Service and later retired in 2005. On July 26, 1975, she married Tony Lee Owens and from this union they had four children Regina, Prentiss, Lance, and Shannon. Victoria lived a life of faith, finding joy in prayer, strength in scripture, and peace in the promises of eternal life. She shared her faith through kindness, compassion, and an unwavering trust in God’s plan. As a mother, she raised her children in the ways of the Lord, teaching them to love, serve, and trust in Him. She found comfort in verses such as 2 Timothy 4:7, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith,” and is now rejoicing in the presence of her Savior. Victoria was an active member of Victory in the Word Church, dedicated her life to God over 40 years ago. Throughout her walk with the lord, she had taken on different roles in the church; youth leader, Sunday School Teacher, Armor Bearer and was just a faithful servant. She enjoyed interior decorating, spending time with her grandkids, traveling, shopping, watching soap operas, and game shows. She was a practical jokester, humorous, stern and strict when it came to discipline. Mrs. Vickie Louise Owens leaves to cherish her memory: 3 children, Regina, Prentiss (Crystal), and Shannon (Cameron); 7 grandchildren, Ta’Riah, Janiah, Tony Jr, Svaja, Connor, Camri and Prentiss Jr.; 2 sisters, Janice Miller and Kathleen (Robert) Browne ; 4 brothers , Larry (Shirley) and Ricky Henderson, Harold and Michael Carter; mother-in-law, Mamie Owens; sister-in-law, Debra (Chester) and Oda Lisa Owens; brother-in-law, Willie Owens Jr.; a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. Victoria was preceded in death by husband, Tony Lee Owens; son, Tony Lance Owens Sr; parents, George and Celia Carter; sisters, Carolyn Harris and Fonda Holbrook; sisters-in-law, Theresa and Brenda Owens; brothers-in-law, Eric Miller, Jimmy and Christopher Owens; nieces, Kristy Owens and Rhonda Brown; nephews, Brandon Tyler and Kenneth Owens; son-in-law, Marlon Wyatt.
