Mrs. Valisa Goodwin-Thomas

GOODWIN-THOMAS, Mrs. Valisa - Age 46, passed away Thursday, August 29, 2013 at her residence. Family hour Monday, September 9, 2013 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11 a.m. Rev. Dr. Nathaniel Lewis, officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Association, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10:30 a.m. Monday. Mrs. Thomas will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday. Mrs. Valisa Lashell Goodwin-Thomas was born March 25, 1967 in Flint, Michigan; the daughter of Donna Estes and Alfred Bates Sr. Mrs. Goodwin-Thomas graduated from Northern High School in 1985, she held a variety of jobs including Security Packaging for 11 years. She loved listening to music, spending time with her family, friends and her granddaughter. Mrs. Valisa Lashell Goodwin-Thomas leaves to cherish her memory: husband, Brian Thomas of Flint; daughter, Vaaisia Williams of Flint; 3 step-children; granddaughter, LaDasia Williams of Flint; 4 step-grandchildren; parents, Donna Estes and Alfred Bates Sr.; step-parents, James Pace and Lawrence Woods; sisters, Martina Burton and Dionne Miller; brothers, Curtis Goodwin and Ashanti Pace, all of Flint; nieces, Shayanna Pace, Camille Minner, Marquesha Simmons, Shania Pace and Monteca Thomas, all of Flint; nephews, Avante Pace, Eric Leverette, Marquice Kincaid, Keante Pace, Brandon Brown and Marquan Simmons, all of Flint; aunts, Jean Toins of Flint and Denise Woods of Detroit, MI; uncles, Robert Woods of Dallas, TX, Calvin Estes of Torrance, CA, Billy Woods of Washington, D.C., and Kelvin Woods of Springfield, MA; cousins, Andre Woods, Kelley Toins, Brian Briggs all of Flint; and a host of other cousins; mother and father-in-law, Glory and Keith Riggs and Charlie Watkins, all of Flint; sisters-in-law, Kienya Thomas and Yvonne Redwine both of Flint; brothers-in-law, Michael Thomas, Waymond Thomas, Delano Burton and Aaron Minner, all of Flint; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, Marie Watkins, Tiffany Polk, Vernadine Alexander, Felicia Strong, Nneka Harris, Dominick Wright, and special aunt, Auntie Lynn, all of Flint.
