WEST, Mrs. Valerie Ann - Age 57, passed away Thursday, May 7, 2015 at Piedmont Hospital - Atlanta, GA. Family hour 10 a.m. Monday, May, 18, 2015 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11 a.m. Rev. Kenneth Casey officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10 a.m. Monday. Mrs. West will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. with family present from 4 p.m. - 6 p.m. Sunday. Mrs. Valerie Ann Rosborough-West, one of God’s lovely angels entered into the Heavenly gates on May 7, 2015 at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. She was born to Mr. & Mrs. Carl Sr. and Corrine Rosborough on May 18, 1957. Valerie attended Public Schools in Flint, Michigan where she received her diploma at Northern High school. She went on to pursue her dreams as a Medical Assistant by attending Mott Community College in Flint. While living in Atlanta, GA Valerie received her Certificate attending Everest Institute in June 2004. On March 7, 1976 she was married in Holy Matrimony to Ira T. West and from this union 3 beautiful children were born. Mrs. West, through the eyes of a child, was an entrepreneur from learning tax preparation, real estate, politics; from which she did run for City Council in 1992, and in the field of electronics. Through all of that her main job was being a great housewife and mother. The family would wind up in Atlanta, GA in February of 1999, making it their home. Valerie enjoyed traveling, fishing, and entertaining friends and family. She was well loved by everyone whom came in contact with her. Valerie always made time for people whether is was opening her home of just being a shoulder to cry on. Her laughs and being a person who so enjoyed life, she will be missed. Her loving ways and beautiful spirit is survived by: daughter, Juanita West; son, Dezrick West; daughter-in-law, Tomasina Harris all of Atlanta, GA; father, Carl (Verma) Rosborough Sr. of Flint, MI; sister, Carla (Ricardo) Herrington of Detroit, MI; 2 step-sisters, Gail Silas of Hamtramck, MI and Toni Silas of Flint, MI; 2 brothers, Carl Rosborough Jr. of Indianapolis, IN and Elroy Rosborough of Detroit, MI; step-brother, Carl (Brenda) Silas of Little Rock, AR; uncle, Thomas Rosborough; god-daughter, Sheri Logan; god-son, Terry Grill; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins, including special cousins, Pat and Terry Rosborough with whom she shared the same date of birth; 4 best-friends for over 35 years and forever, Jean (Baron) Watson, Nadine Roberts, Gayle Fugua and Rosetta Hall; and one special shih-tzu dog “Gabbi” of whom she called “Baby”, who she loved and adored lie she was her grandchild; also special friends, Ira T. West, Angie Bailey, Dwight Williams, the Crockett, Hill, Huddleston, Hatter, McIntyre, Weathers and Martin families. She was preceded in death by: son, Ira T. West II; mother, Corrine Rosborough; grandparents, Tommy Crockett, Francies (Madea) Crockett and Georgia Taylor; and special cousin, Robert Rosborough.
