MASSEY, Mrs. Valeria Faye (White) - Age 59, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 9, 2008 at Genesys Health Park. Family hour 10:30AM Tuesday, October 14, 2008 at Bethlehem Temple Apostolic Church, 3401 M.L. King Ave., with funeral service commencing immediately at 11AM. Pastor Phillip J. Thompson officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:30AM Tuesday. Mrs. Massey will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 1PM-8PM Monday. Mrs. Valeria Faye (White) Massey born March 7, 1949 in Norphlet, AR, the daughter of Henry Woodrow and Alvenia Hicks White. Known as Faye by her family and friends, and recognized as Valeria by her associates. Faye was a graduate of Flint Northern High School. She was a long time member of Bethlehem Temple Church where she was a very faithful member of the Mass Choir. Faye loved singing in the choir, teaching Sunday school and performing the secretarial duties for the Sunday School Department. She could always be seen praising the Lord and praying for others even when she’s battling pain herself. Her outside hobbies were, crocheting, sewing, cooking, working on her computer and most of all assembling her many gadgets and furniture. In addition to her hobbies, Faye also prepared the family’s income taxes. She worked over 20 years for Comcast Cable and was a tax preparer for H & R Block, her many talents will be missed by her family and friends.
