First Lady Twinet Alicia Jenkins

JENKINS, Mrs. Twinet Alicia - Age 63, passed away Monday, October 2, 2023, at Ascension Genesys. Family hour 11:00 AM Monday, October 16, 2023, at New Heaven Missionary Baptist Church, G-3184 W. Pierson Rd., with funeral service commencing at 12:00 PM., Pastor Joseph Jenkins Host Pastor, Pastor Sean Payne, officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Associating., G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the Church 11:00 AM Monday, October 16. First Lady Jenkins will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 10:00 AM-4:00 PM Sunday, October 15, 2023. Twinet Alicia Jenkins was born June 04, 1960 in Mobile, Alabama, to proud parents, the late Ozer Lee Fairley and Eunice Lee Carlton. She was affectionately called by most "Net/Nettie Bird." Twinet lived with her grandparents for most of her childhood, the late Lewis Douglas Carlton Sr., and Allie Marie Carlton. Twinet graduated from John Shaw High School in Mobile, Alabama. She then moved to Michigan to further her education, receiving a BA in Business Management from the University of Michigan - Flint. Twinet helped her parents, the late John Lee and Eunice Lee Ingram raise her younger siblings upon returning to Michigan, while pursuing her education as well. Twinet was employed at the US Postal Service for 37 years before retiring in 2022. She was united in Holy Matrimony to Joseph Jenkins on June 16, 1990. Her hobbies included spending time with family, helping others, and encouraging others, especially her grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was faithful in all aspects of life, especially when pertaining to the Ministry. She faithfully served as Sunday School Teacher, Announcement/Membership Clerk, & Treasurer at New Heaven. If she saw a need, she just stepped in. She also faithfully served as 3rd Vice President and Teacher in the Great Lakes Baptist District Minister's Wives and Widows. Twinet leaves to keep her memory alive: husband of 33 years, Pastor Joseph Jenkins, mother-in-law, Earlene Fullwood of Alliance, OH; 2 adorable sons, Joshua Jenkins of Flint Twp., MI and Timothy Jenkins of Texas; 3 loving daughters, Clayvonne Menendez of Las Vegas, Nevada. Stephanie Payton of Flint Twp., MI, and Jolanda Jenkins of Davison, MI; 3 sisters, Sonceria Ford of Swartz Creek, MI, Sandra Fairley, and La'Tanya (Jeffrey) Lyles of Mobile, AL; 6 brothers Cecil (Angie) Ingram of Birmingham, AL, Calvin (Crystal) Ingram of Tucson, AZ, Christopher and Bryan Ingram of Flint Twp., MI, Ron (Nicole) Vason of Mobile, AL, and Ozer Lee; 3 brothers-in-law, Charles and Rickey Jenkins of Alliance, OH, and Martwaz Ford of Flint Twp., MI; 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, numerous cousins, nieces & nephews all of whom she adored; 3 uncles, Lewis (Maxine) Carlton Jr., Richard (Rosetta) Fairley of Mobile AL, and McReynolds Fairley of Flint, MI; 2 aunts Edna Toles of Flint, MI, and Vestula Harris of Louisville, MS. Twinet's extended family consists of: beloved special sister/cousins, Janice Neal, Vickie Jones, and Paulette Adams, brother/cousin, Roosevelt Davis; other sisters, Glenda Henderson, Arlene Jackson, Laina Schmidt, and many more; special brother John Clark; god-mother Lillie Wilkes; special aunts, Clara Thornton, and Robecca Smith; Her numerous god-children whom she loved equally; her many friends, co-workers, and the entire New Heaven MBC family. Twinet was preceded in death by parents, grand-parents, and numerous other relatives and friends. The family would like to express special thanks to the doctors and nurses at Ascension Genesys Hospital. A very special thank you to family friend, Dr. Walter White (Coach), Elder and First Lady Matthew Jackson of Refuge Temple Church of Flint, Rev. John Dees of Emmanuel A.M.E. of Mobile, AL; Rev.
