BEASLEY, Mr. Troy - Age 76, passed away Tuesday, January 20, 2009 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 10:30AM Monday, January 26, 2009 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing immediately at 11AM. Family and friends will assemble at the Chapel 10:30AM Monday. Mr. Beasley will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home. There will be no public viewing. Mr. Troy Beasley was born October 21, 1932 in Queen City, Texas, the son of McKinley Beasley and Allene Beasley. Troy was a resident of Little Rock, Arkansas and Flint, Michigan for most of his adult life. He was an Army Veteran and served in the Vietnam War. Troy also was a life member of VFW Post 3791. He retired from General Motors Local #651. Troy loved golfing and traveling. He was a very caring person who loved spending time with his 3 grandchildren, family and friends. Mr. Troy Beasley leaves to cherish his memory: 3 sons, Dana Beasley of Clinton Twp, MI, Maurice Beasley of Atlanta, GA and Jamie Hollins of Oakland, CA; 3 grandchildren, David (Gayla) Beasley, Phoenix, AZ, Staci Beasley of Flint, MI and Traci Beasley of Atlanta, GA; 2 great grandchildren, Kellie Beasley and Terry Settle, III; sister, Erma Jean Beasley (Tom King) of Flint, MI, special nieces, Jeanette Cook and daughters, Norma Henderson, Joan Beasley and Mona Gail Beasley, all of Flint, MI; nephews, Wilson Trammel of San Diego, CA, Willis Ray Trammel of Saginaw, MI, John Stanmore of Baltimore, MD and Rickey Beasley of Flint, MI; aunt, Bernice Perkins; cousins, Nettie Jean Smith, Lottie Wheeler, all of Little Rock, AR; Vernon Stanmore of Long View, TX, Edward Barrett of Little Rock, AR, Florence Stanmore of Queen City, TX and John D. Wright of Waco, TX; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, former wife, Margaret Draine, Motor City Seniors Golf League, McDonalds (Southside) Breakfast Club, VFW Members Post 3791, and Commander Warren Jackson. Mr. Beasley was preceded in death by his parents, Allene Beasley and McKinley Beasley; and brothers, Mac, Raymond, John J. Beasley. The family would like to express special thanks to the Staff of Hurley Medical Center Neuro ICU, Grace Emmanuel Baptist Church and Christ Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home in care of the grandchildren of Mr. Troy Beasley.
