Mrs. Toyea Andrena Fleming - Tatum

TATUM, Mrs. Toyea - Age 48, passed away Friday, September 16, 2022 at Henry Ford Hospital, Detroit, MI. Memorial celebration of life will be held at Roma Banquet Center, 5226 N. Saginaw St. Flint, MI 48505. Mrs. Toyea life will be celebrated from 1:00PM-5:00PM, Sunday, November 20, 2022. Mrs. Toyea Andrena Fleming-Tatum was born on June 13,1974, in Flint Michigan. She’s the daughter of LaStarza and Marilyn Fleming. She was a resident of Flint,Michigan and attended Carman-Ainsworth Community School. During which she participated in choir always being chosen as the lead singer. She then went to Texas to attend school and continued to let her voice rang. Lastly, finishing her high school education at Flint Central High School. Toyea was a lovable and triumphant mother; one in a million. She gave unconditional love and gave her upmost support. She shared her love and having fun with her family and friends, especially her husband and her children. Toyea loved cooking, shopping, playing cards, laughing and singing karaoke. Her beautiful voice would make everyone want an encore. It would be unforgettable and amaze you. She was a high spirited funny person that everyone that encountered her loved to be around her remarkable positive energy. If you knew her; Toyea was always the light and the life of the moment. She loved and enjoyed participating with the community especially if it had to do with administrative ordeals as well as communicating with the public. She had a way of persuading you to do what is best for you in a way that would benefit you in the future. She would advised you to hold your head up with confidence and follow your dreams. Toyea moved to Avondale Arizona to own and operate a clothing boutique “A Passion 4 Fashion “. She followed her own motto and it was a success! While residing in Arizona she then attended Rio Salado -Community College in Tempe doing online classes to become a Behavioral Health/Substance Abuse Counselor. After graduating from Rio Salado she started working for The State of Arizona Department of Corrections at the Lewis—Complex in Buckeye Arizona. She held multiple titles such as a nurse assistant, clinical coordinator, lab technician and telemedicine coordinator conducting telemedicine appointments via satellite within the correctional facility. Toyea moved back to her home town Flint Michigan, to be closer to her family. She would always say give people their flowers while they are here. During her return to Flint she furthered her education by attending Ross Medical School as a Medical Assistant. Still wanting to make a difference in people lives she began to work for Planned Parenthood in Lansing, Michigan. Toyea later on established herself as an American Red Cross trainer that taught others CPR/AED/BLS. It was at that moment she realized her other dream had to be accomplished. She opened up a community-based training center “World Class Training Center”, located in the GST -Michigan Works Building downtown-Flint. Offering training in various areas of enrichment and personal growth. Her philosophy in life was to “Teach One Reach One”. Toyea always had the mindset of trying to save the world. She always stayed a busybody and thought often how to make a difference in another individuals life. Expressing her thoughts, giving her heart and exemplifying a phenomenal woman. Toyea had many strong characteristics one being interpersonal and communication skills. Toyea always wanted to set a positive example by sharing her own life experiences. She could read you like a book but give you the benefit of the doubt. An earth angel that is now an angel up above. Toyea A. Fleming-Tatum, leaves to cherish her memory: Husband Robert Tatum, and family, Daughter Jamiaya Charnelle Fleming and Son Robbie Lee Fleming, her lovable puppy Roxi, Mother Marilyn Fleming Johnson and Father LaStarza Fleming and Grandmother Lula Fleming, Brother “Big B”Brandon Fleming, Sister Ushiena Fleming, three Aunts Yevette Duncan Henley ,Yevonne Johnson, Andrena Robinson. Cousins Antwaun, Dondrick Robinson, Derrick jr Andrew,Brianna, Derrick Sr. Anders,and a host of relatives and friends. Mrs.Toyea was preceded in death by her grandparents Barbara and Andrew Johnson, Uncle Ricky Johnson,Aunt Trudy Anders, cousin Leonard Earl Duncan and grandson Christian Fleming.
