BENTON, Ms. Torina Andrea - Age 48, passed away Friday, May 11, 2018 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 10:00 AM Saturday, May 26, 2018 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM. Pastor Kenneth L. Stewart, officiating. Interment Gracelawn Community Cemetery, G-5710 N. Saginaw St. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the Chapel 10:00 AM Saturday. Ms. Benton will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed from 1:00 PM-8:00 PM Friday. Torina Andrea Benton was born May 12, 1969 in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Willie Carl Williams and Billie Lynn Wright. She accepted Christ at an early age and attended Mount Zion Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Williams. Torina also attended Flint Community Schools and Hair Force Academy Cosmetology School. She became employed working in her passion, which was caring and loving people as a Direct Care Worker. Torina later gained employment with General Motors Corporation and was a member of UAW Local #589 with 23 years of service. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. Torina always displayed a godly love for everyone that she knew. She enjoyed family, music, shopping and sitting by the water. Torina was very independent and had a smile that’s bright as the sunshine. Torina Andrea Benton leaves to cherish her memory: 2 daughters, LaToya Taylor and Laquisha Patrick; son, ZyAire Gee; god-daughter, Tisalene Freeman; god-sons, Quayshaun Lewis and Ajarey Shotwell; 2 grandchildren, Jatavion Adkisson and Demario Silk; mother, Billie Lynn Wright; 6 sisters, Diane Williams, Tasheen (James) Shotwell, Brenda Williams, Tamike Wright, Taseena Benton and Carla Wright Jenkins; 4 brothers, Danny (Brenda) Williams, Carl Williams, Jason Freeman and Alan Williams; a host of nieces, Taliah Williams, Nicole Storyes, Nakiea Storyes, Zykessha Gee, Shanteria Finley and Shantavia Williams; a host of nephews, Eric Miller, Dominic Manuel, Ade Milton, Shamear Milton, Deondra Williams, Danny Johnson Jr. and Deon Johnson; uncles, David Benton and Clifton Ross; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, Darline Baker, Keith Reid, Demico Shumpert, Ms. Louvenia Lindsey, Alice Rainey-Wilson and Belinda Bishop of Chicago, IL. Torina was preceded in death by grandson, Sir Dequavion Silk; father, Willie Carl Williams; step-father, Julius Wright Sr.; brother, Julius Wright Jr.; aunt, Ora Lee Sanders, Ruby T.
