Mr. Tommy C. Pringle-Barfield

PRINGLE-BARFIELD, Mr. Tommy C. - Age 72, passed away Thursday, March 7, 2019 at McLaren-Flint. Family hour 1:30 PM Saturday, March 16, 2019 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 2:00 PM. Family and friends will assemble at the Chapel 1:30 PM Saturday. Mr. Pringle-Barfield will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed from 1:00 PM-8:00 PM Friday. Mr. Tommy C. (Barfield) Pringle was born December 11, 1946 in Meridian, Mississippi to T.C. Yab and Lucille Pringle. T.C. (Tommy) was educated in the Flint Community School System, graduating from Flint Northern in 1965. While at Flint Northern Tommy excelled in sports playing football, wrestling and track. He later attended Wilberforce University in Xenia, OH. T.C. enjoyed sports of all types and was a avid Michigan fan. He was especially proud when his stepson Demetrius Calip won the 1989 College basketball championship in Atlanta. For over 45 years he worked as a Dental Technician in Flint and Atlanta, GA where he lived for many years before returning to Flint. Mr. Tommy C. (Barfield) Pringle leaves to cherish in his memory: daughters, Lori Barfield of Dallas, GA, Tara Thornton of LaGrange, GA and Agnes Barfield of Columbus, OH; sons, Thomas Jamal Pringle of Alaska, Montae Barfield of Lagrange, GA; granddaughters, Bianca Bates of Dallas, GA, Alexys Barfield of Xenia, OH, and Madison Barfield of LaGrange, GA; grandsons, Jermaine Barfield of Columbus, OH, Chanse Hill and Devon Hill, both of LaGrange, GA; brothers, Jimmie, Fred, and Jerome (Yolanda ) Barfield; aunts, Flora Pringle, Louise Branch, Jackie Barfield, Mary Stewart, Marie Valentine and Luriesa Russell; uncle, Joe Nathan (Fannie) Barfield, all of Flint; many nieces, nephews and cousins including, Kevin Pringle and Stanley Marshall whom he worked with. He also leaves close friends, Clint Davis, Jerome Nellums, Sam Carpenter and Reuben Tatum of Atlanta, GA. Tommy was preceded in death by his son, Phillip Heard; father, T.C. Yab; parents, Jimmie and Lucille Barfield; grandparents, Cleave and Edna Pringle, John and Mattie Barfield; sisters, Linda Barfield and Theresa (David) McIntosh; niece, Monica Barfield; nephew, Daquan Skinner; sister-in-law, Jackie Jones-Barfield; cousins, Gloria Jones and Edna Monroe.
