LESLIE, Mr. Tommie, Jr. - Age 69, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 24, 2006 at Brian's House Davidson. Family hour 11:30AM Tuesday, January 31, 2006 at New Beginnings Ministries, G-5227 Beecher Rd., with funeral service commencing at 12Noon. Apostle Clarence Lewis, officiating. Interment Flint Memorial Park, G-9506 N. Dort Hwy. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 11:30AM Tuesday. Mr. Leslie will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12Noon-8PM Monday. Mr. Tommie Leslie, Jr. was born on July 8, 1936 in Rison, Arkansas the son of Tommie and Dorothy I. (Freeman) Leslie, Sr. Mr. Leslie was a resident of Flint and a member of New Beginnings Ministries. Tommie attended school in Rison, AR, Cleveland County. As an entrepreneur, he was the former owner of T&M Market, McMillian Appliances, Fish & Chicken Shack, and Tommie's Lawn Care Service. Mr. Leslie retired from General Motors B-O-C Flint, and was a member of UAW Local 599. He was an avid gardener, fisherman and game hunter. Tommie was a kind, generous and loving man. Mr. Tommie Leslie, Jr. leaves to cherish his memory: wife, Valerie (Gill) Leslie; 5 daughters, Camilla Hudson, Tianndria, Tichelle, Quinnetta, and Sharita Leslie, all of Flint; 4 sons, Donnell (Karla) Mance, Charles Thompson, Rev. Michael (Phyllis) Leslie, and Steven A. Leslie, all of Flint; 1 stepson, Herman Jones; grandchildren, Donnyell, Dionne, Mia, Kennisha, Laiondre', Matoya (Courtney), Michael II, LaKeara, Shareka, Laqueesha, April, Adrianne, William, Robert (Reva); many great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Betty J. Harper of Mt. Clemens, L'Tanya Clegg of Flint; a host of nieces and nephews; 2 aunts, Dora Barnett and Rosetta Wasp; uncle, Oscar Barnett; numerous cousins including Connie Bostic of Detroit, MI; mother and father-in-law, Pastor James M. (Ella) Gill, Jr. of Burton, MI; 8 sisters-in-law, Janice (Tony) Murphy of Flint, Phyllis (Michael) Holbrook of Burton, Elizabeth (Rev. Willie) Hill of Falkner, MS, Lorraine (Lee) Murphy of Flint, Linda (Daren) Parrish of Memphis, TN, Alta (Rev. Zack) Smith of Flint, Felicia (James) Jones of Summerville, GA, and Ruby (Fred) Gill of Grand Blanc, MI; brothers-in-law, James (Shawn) Gill, Timothy (Delois) Gill, and Mark (Susan) Gill, all of Flint; many other relatives and friends including special friends, Huston Blevins, Richard Adams, Linnon Wilson, John Sanders, Billy Joe Housely, Jake Moten, The Quinn Family and Melvin. Mr. Tommie Leslie, Jr. was preceded in death by his parents, Tommie and Dorothy (Freeman) Leslie, Sr.; son, Marvin D. Leslie; sister, Mildred Coleman; brothers, Clifton and Charles E. Leslie.
