Mr. Tom Norman Sr.

NORMAN Mr. Tom Sr. - Age 83, passed away Sunday, June 1, 2025 at his residence. Family hour 10:00 AM Wednesday, June 11, 2025 at First Union Baptist Church, 7004 Fleming Rd. Flint, MI with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM Pastor Dennis Powell, officiating. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:00 AM Wednesday. Mr. Norman will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM Tuesday. Tom Norman Sr. was born June 21, 1941, in Byhalia, Mississippi, the son of Rosalie Wilson and George Henry Norman Sr. He was the last of eight children. Bro. Norman was a faithful usher and greeter at First Union Baptist Church. He was retired from Buick City, a division of General Motors Corporation and a member of UAW Local #599. Bro. Norman was passionate about cooking, and he was a gardener. He was a jokester most of the time. Trust and believe when he said what he meant, he meant what he said. To know Bro. Norman was to love him. Tom Norman Sr. leaves to cherish sweet memories: wife of almost 62 years, Dorothy Jean Norman of Flint; children, Sharon Hawkins of San Antonio, TX, Tom (Quinsandra) Norman Jr. and Paula (Jeffrey) Thompson of Lithonia, GA; god-son, Issac Alexander; grandchildren, Julian Hawkins, Salihah Nelson and Charne’ (JaQuawn) Woods; great-grandchildren, Parker Nelson and Elias Hawkins; daughter-in-love, Tami (Carlton) McIntosh; grandchildren-in-love, Rayona Burton, Caran McIntosh and Corleone McIntosh; great-grandchildren-in-love, Skylar William and Arayah Burton; brothers-in-law, Dannis (Helen) Williams of Cordon, TN and Eric Williams; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends including very special friend, Jim Mawdsley. Tom was preceded in death by his father, George Henry Norman Sr., and his mother, Rosalie Wilson; his five sisters: Margaret Bankhead, Ada Mae Wolfe Walls, Johnetta Shelton, Evelyn Lambert, and Carolyn Norman; and his two brothers: George Henry Norman Jr. and T.S.
