NELSON, Mr. Toi L. - Age 43, passed away Tuesday, February 3, 2009 at Hurley Medical Center. Funeral Service 11AM Saturday, February 14, 2009 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., Rev. Antwan Roland officiating. Interment Gracelawn Community Cemetery, G-5710 N. Saginaw St. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 11AM Saturday. Mr. Nelson will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 12Noon-8PM Friday. Mr. Toi L. Nelson was born April 19, 1965 in Flint, Michigan, the son of Catherine Nelson and Willie Freeman. Toi attended Flint Public Schools graduating from Central High School. He also attended Mott Community College. Toi was a member of New Harvest Baptist Church, where he sang in the Choir. He loved music and watching movies. Toi had a beautiful personality and was determined to succeed not letting anything get in the way of his dreams. He was a wonderful brother, son and friend. Mr. Toi L. Nelson leaves to cherish his memory: parents, Catherine Nelson and Willie Freeman of Flint; 5 sisters, Vanessa of Flint, Cynthia of North Carolina, Alexis, Tequila and Monique, all of Flint; 2 brothers, James of North Carolina and Zachary of Oklahoma; 8 nieces, Diamond, Terrianna, Cashiya, all of Flint, Shantel of Oklahoma, Brandy, Shameika, Nashonda and Ezenika, all of Flint; 7 nephews, Diontay, Devion both of Flint, Zachary Jr., Quentin of Oklahoma, Enrique of North Carolina, James Jr. and James Corey both of Flint; 4 aunts, Annie, Lola, both of Flint, Willie Ruth and Ethel of Georgia; 13 uncles, Rollie Gene, Stanley both of Flint and Charles of Colorado; numerous cousins; a host of other relatives and friends including special friend, Debra Pighee. Mr. Nelson was preceded in death by grandparents, Rollie and Willie Maude Nelson, Sr., Bradley and Mary Lee Freeman; uncles, Rollie Nelson, Jr., James L. Freeman, Bradley E. Freeman, Jr., and John Freeman; and aunts, Bobbie Nelson, Addie Simmons and Rosie L. Freeman. The family would like to express special thanks to New Harvest Baptist Church family.
