Mr. Thomas L. Parson

PARSON, Mr. Thomas L. - Age 76, passed away Sunday, January 22, 2017 at his residence. Family hour 10:00 AM at New Jerusalem Full Gospel Baptist Church, 1035 E. Carpenter Rd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM, Pastor Patrick W. Sanders Sr. officiating. Interment Flint Memorial Park Cemetery, G-9506 North Dort Highway, Mt. Morris, MI. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the Church 10:00 AM Friday. Mr. Parson will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed 12:00 PM - 8:00 PM Thursday. Mr. Thomas L. Parson was born January 15, 1941 in Coldwater, Mississippi; the son of John H. Sr. and Agnes Parson. He met and was united in Holy Matrimony to the love of his life, Willie Mae Parson. Thomas was a devoted member of New Jerusalem Full Gospel Baptist Church. He served on the Usher Board #1 and the Men’s Usher Board. Anyone who knew Thomas, knew he loved talking trash, making people laugh and going to the casino with his wife. He enjoyed spending quality time with his children and grandchildren. Thomas retired from General Motors Corporation with 30 years of service. Mr. Thomas L. Parson leaves to cherish his memory: the love of his life, his wife, Willie Mae Parson; 8 daughters, Belinda Parson, Antoiniette (Robert) Brown, Wendy (Wayne) Johnson, Joyce Watkins, Wanda (Chris) Deloach, Angela Bowie, Monica (Kerry) Dantzler, and his baby, Juanita (Andre) Manns; 3 sons, Kevin Mitchell, Terry (Yolanda) Parson, and Jarmaine (Tracy) Parson; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Mozil Jefferson and Juanita Parson; 3 brothers, Stanley Parson, John E. Parson and Melvin Parson; sister-in-law, Mae Willie Tucker; brother-in-law, Nathaniel Tucker; god-son, Caleb Winding; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends including special friends, Mr. & Mrs. Winding, Eugene Smith, Robert Stram and Ruby LeGardye. Mr. Parson was preceded in death by his son, Ricky Bonaparte; grandson, Kaneco Parson; parents, John H. Sr. and Agnes Parson; mother and father-in-law, Olivia and Nathaniel Tucker; sister, Mae Frances Shelton; 3 brothers, John Henry Parson Jr., Lee Parson and Michael Parson; sister-in-law, Annie Boatner; brother-in-law, James Tucker
