HERRON, Mr. Thomas David - Age 64, Passed away Sunday, January 13, 2008 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 10:30AM Saturday, January 19, 2008 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing immediately at 11AM. Interment Flint Memorial Park Cemeter, G-9506 N. Dort Hwy. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10:30AM Saturday. Mr. Herron will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 12Noon-8PM Friday. Mr. Thomas David Herron was born April 11, 1943 in Vian, Oklahoma, the son of Arvelia and Virgil Herron. Thomas was a resident of Flint most of his life. He was employed and retired from Buick a Division of General Motors Corporation and was a member of UAW Local #599. Mr. Herron served as a Medical Corpsman in the United States Army and was Honorably Discharged. He graduated from Mt. Morris High School and attended Prairieview A&M College in Texas. He met, courted, and married Gloria (Tillie) Moore. Mr. Herron met no strangers. He loved playing cards, going to the casino, joking with people, watching sports, and bragging about his Bar-B-Que. Mr. Herron also wrote the book on chili. He just loved and cared about his family. Mr. Herron leaves to cherish his memory: his spouse Gloria "Tillie" Moore-Herron; daughter, Nicola Herron of Ann Arbor, MI; 3 step children, Robert Moore, Andre' Moore, and Cassandra Moore all of Flint, MI; 15 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Mae (Larry) Buckner and Sandra (Dino) Guerra both of Mt. Morris, MI; numerous nieces and nephews; 2 aunts, Bernice (James) Kiff of Mt. Morris, MI and Rosie Harris of Berkley, CA; cousins, Earline Caldwell and James B. Kiff; brother-in-law, Gary Moore of Lorain, OH; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, Michael Duncan, James and Geraldine Harper, Duane Duncan, Keith Horton, William Mitchell, Reuben Thomas, and James and Caroline Younger. Mr. Herron was preceded in death by, his parents, Virgil and Arvelia Herron; stepdaughter, Kelly Moore; grandparents, Wyatt and Sally Brock, Robert and Birdie Herron; sister-in-law; and many aunts and uncles. The family would like to express special thanks to James and Geraldine Harper and Pastor Stewart and The House of Prayer Missionary Baptist Church family.
