NELSON, Mr. Thermon F. - Age 73, passed away Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at Henry Ford Hospital, Detroit, MI. Mr. Nelson will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed Tuesday, December 15, 2020 from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM. Interment Flint Memorial Park Cemetery, G-9506 N. Dort Hwy., Mt. Morris, MI. Obituary Mr. Thermon Franklin Nelson was born July 19, 1947 in Kiblah, Arkansas, the son of H.V. and Ethel Nelson. Thermon moved to Flint, Michigan in 1965. He began working for Buick City, a division of General Motors Corporation for over 40 years. Thermon met and married JoEvelyn Lynch and together they raised 6 children, Pamela Lynch, Reginald (Maria) Lynch, Chevez Cedillo, Shelton Lynch, Thernisa Nelson and Theron Nelson. He was a dedicated member of True Gospel Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Malik Shabazz for over 30 years. He enjoyed visits from his family, going out to lunch and catching up with his siblings over the phone every night. Thermon also loved playing Dominos and Bid Whist. He was the epitome of a family man. Mr. Thermon Franklin Nelson leaves to cherish his memory: 3 daughters and 2 sons, Pamela Lynch of Mt. Morris, MI, Chevez Cedillo of Hayward, CA, Shelton Lynch of Flint, Thernisa Nelson of Mt. Morris, MI and Theron Nelson of Flint; grandchildren, Shelton Lynch Jr., Ashli (Brian) Wells, Philana (Darien) Coolin, SoPhelia Morrow, Vineshia Bell, Vgnacio Cedillo, Valencia Lynch, Donyale Walton, Shyaire Nelson, Zai’Veon Nelson and Ne’Myah Wilkins; 5 great-grandchildren; sister, Ella Warren; 2 brothers, Haron (Verna) Nelson and Leslie (Jackie) Nelson; a host of nieces and nephews including special nephew, Windland (Malirria) Peters; 3 sisters-in-law; 3 brothers-in-law; a host of cousins, other relatives and friends including special friends, James “Rabbit” Shepard and Margo. Mr. Nelson was preceded in death by his wife, JoEvelyn Nelson; son, Reginal Lynch; parents, L.V. and Ethel Nelson; sisters, Rosalee Hill, Mariyetta Jackson, Aquilla Munerlyn and Myra Williams; brother, L.B. Nelson. The family would like to express special thanks to True Gospel Missionary Baptist Church family, friends and family who have reached out with love, and the Lawrence E.
