ELLIOTT, Ms. Theresa - Age 46, passed away Thursday, December 15, 2011at her residence. Family Hour 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 22, 2011 at Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, 4805 N. Saginaw Street, with funeral services commencing at 11:00 a.m. Dr. Henry L. Fuller, Jr. officiating. Interment River Rest Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:00 a.m. Thursday. Ms. Elliott will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 1 p.m. – 8 p.m. Wednesday. Ms. Theresa Elliottbegan this journey of life among us on May 3, 1965 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. She grew up in Flint, Michigan after having been brought here by her mother, Rosa Elliott at the age of three months. She attended the Flint public schools, graduating from Flint Northern High School. In 1983, she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from Baker College. She was employed by Home Health Care and enjoyed writing poetry, and listening to Gospel music. Theresa began her Christian journey after having been baptized at Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church by the late, Pastor Granville Smith. She sang in the Youth Choir and for a while was the Choir Director. She was also active in the Youth Department. Ms. Theresa Elliott leaves in God’s care: Mother, Rosa Hussey; 1 son, Reontre Elliott; 3 sisters, Odessa Elliott, of Flint, Janice Nash and Jennifer Powell, both of Chicago, IL; 1 brother, Earnest (Deidre) Elliott of Muncie, IN; 4 uncles: William (Julia) Bradley, Harper (Lucinda) Jimerson and James Jimerson, of Tuscaloosa, AL; Sylvester (Barbara) Jimerson of Ypsilanti, MI; 5 aunts: Debra (Earnest) McCruder, Ada Jimerson and Yvonne Jimerson, all of Tuscaloosa, AL; Kurtis Bell of Ypsilanti, MI; Mary Jimerson, of Flint; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends including, Deidre Spight-Woodson, Pamela Carpenter, Rhonda Lowe, Dr. Henry L. Fuller, Jr., and the Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church family. Ms. Elliott was preceded in death by her father, Eugene Elliott; uncle, Sylvester Jimerson; and grandmother, Rosa Jimerson.
