ELBERT, Mrs. Theresa C. - Age 57, transitioned from this earthly life, Friday, December 3, 2010 at Hurley Medical Center in Flint, Michigan to her heavenly external home. Mrs. Elbert will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., Flint, MI., 48505 and may be viewed from 2-6 p.m. Thursday. Family hour 11 a.m. Friday, December 10, 2010 at Grace Temple Church of Christ, 711 Grace St., Albion, MI, 49224 followed by homegoing service at 12Noon. Eld. Steven Williams officiating, Pastor Robert L. Brown, Host Pastor. Family hour 11 a.m. Saturday, December 11, 2010 at Greater Galilee Baptist Church, 4418 Industrial Ave., Flint, MI. with homegoing service commencing at 12Noon. Pastor Latrelle Holmes officiating. Interment River Rest Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 11 a.m. Saturday. Mrs. Theresa C. (Habern) Elbert was born October 24, 1953 in Albion Michigan to Henry and Bertha Mae Habern. Theresa graduated from Albion High School in 1971 and continued her education at Kellogg Community College in Battle Creek, Michigan, where she received an Associates of Arts Degree in Business Management. She was also employed by Union Steele and McGraw Edison. After a wonderful courtship, Theresa married her beloved spouse Robert Elbert, Sr. of Flint Michigan on September 3, 1988 and on September 5, 1989 this union was blessed by the birth of their much cherished son Arcenio. Theresa enjoyed bowling, family gatherings, and the Detroit Pistons. She also loved traveling throughout the U.S. and taking cruises to Mexico. Theresa took much joy in attending Arcenio’s basketball tournaments, as she was his most devoted fan. She loved jewelry and had an exceptional eye for diamond clarity. Theresa loved the beauty of nature. Mrs. Theresa C. Elbert is survived by: beloved husband, Robert Elbert, Sr.; sons, Arcenio Elbert, Robert L. Elbert, Taray (Kristina) Elbert, Adonis Elbert and Robert (Katrina) Elbert, Jr.; grandchildren, Diamonique and Shatara Elbert, Robert Elbert III, Kyesha and Harmony Elbert; great grandchild, Shania Carpenter; sisters, Brenda (Toney) Davis, Sandra Wimberly, adopted sister, Denise Maxwell, Mother Barbara (Habern) Lee, Sister Cathy (Joe) Larry, Brother Michael (Kathy) Stanley; special uncle, Sydney Justice of Davison, MI; special niece and nephew, Destiny and Toney Davis, both of Albion, MI as she shared their childhood with them, residing in her childhood home; a host of nieces, nephews, brothers, sisters-in-law and cousins. Mrs. Elbert was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Bertha Habern; grandparents, Peter (Adaline) Justice, John (Martha) Habern; and two brothers, Henry Allen and Jonathan Habern.
