Mrs. Theresa Marie Dupree-Scrivner

DUPREE-SCRIVNER, Mrs. Theresa Marie - Age 57, passed away Sunday, March 23, 2025, at Willowbrook Manor. Family hour 10:00 AM Saturday, March 29, 2025 at Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church, with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM. Pastor Morris Collins Jr., officiating. Interment Gracelawn Cemetery, 5710 N. Saginaw St. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:00 AM Saturday. Mrs. Dupree-Scrivner will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd. and may be viewed from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM Friday. Theresa Marie Dupree-Scrivner was born on October 10, 1967, in Flint, Michigan, to Gloria Dupree and James Le’Flore. She graduated from Flint Northern High School, Class of 1985. Throughout her life, Theresa held various jobs, but one of her most fulfilling roles was working as a nursing assistant, where her natural compassion and care for others truly shined. Sadly, On March 23, 2025, Theresa passed away peacefully at Willowbrook Manor. Theresa had a deep love for her family and friends, but nothing brought her more joy than spending time with her grandchildren. She was known for her incredible cooking, her love of singing, and simply enjoying life to the fullest—especially on bingo nights, where her fun-loving spirit was always on display, and we all knew she loved her some Betty Boop! Theresa was a light to everyone she encountered, and her warmth, kindness, and strength will be deeply missed. She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted husband, Marvin Scrivner Sr.; her loving children, Shalonda Scrivner (Jaton Currie), Marvin Scrivner Jr. (Tanya Neal), Chavez Scrivner (Patrina Hall) of Dallas, TX, and Shamara Dupree of Flint, MI; her cherished grandchildren, Mario Boone Jr., Armoni Boone, Delonta Boone, Nevaeh Jordan, Amir Dupree, Marianah Scrivner, all of Flint, and August-Marie Scrivner of Dallas, TX. She is also survived by her brothers, Kevin Dupree and Tucson Bridges of Flint, MI; her sisters, Lisa Turner of Florida and Andrea Le’Flore of Flint, Francettae Arnold of Texas, and Chenita Jones Flint mi; her sisters-inlaw, Cheryl Scrivner and Tabitha Scrivner; her brothers-in-law, Daryl Jenkins, David Scrivner, and William Scrivner; her aunts, Billie (David) Dupree, Shirley Clady, Charlotte Dupree, Maurine Fletcher, Merlin Love, Gladys Sanders, and Pearl Sanders all of Rockford Illinois; her uncles, Fredrick (Barbara) Dupree Sr, Kenny Dupree all of Flint, Warren Sanders, Alvin Sanders, Tony Dupree of Rockford Illinois, and; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousin,and countless others who were blessed to know her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gloria Dupree and James Le’Flore; her grandparents, Ozell Dupree and Freeman Dupree; her siblings, Natausha Jenkins and Labryant Dupree; her aunts and uncles, Rosemary Dupree, Denise Dupree, Mary Jean Veley, and Troy Dupree; and her niece and nephews, Laquanda Lavender, DeMario Dupree, DeAndre Scrivner, and Kevin Dupree Jr. Theresa’s love, strength, and unwavering spirit will remain in the hearts of all who knew her. Though our hearts are heavy, we find peace in knowing she is at rest. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the medical staff at Hurley Medical Center, McLaren Hospital, and Willowbrook Manor, as well as a special thanks to Tamika Zinn, and to everyone who played a role in Theresa’s care during her final years. Your kindness and dedication will never be forgotten.
