Mrs. Theresa Cousins

COUSINS, Mrs. Theresa - Age 89, passed away Sunday, November 20, 2016 at her residence. Family hour 10:00 AM Saturday, November 26, 2016 at Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, 4805 N. Saginaw Street, with funeral service commencing at 11:00AM Rev. Dr. Henry L. Fuller, Jr. officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:00 AM Saturday. Mrs. Cousins will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 1:00 PM - 8:00 PM Friday. Ms. Theresa Carnell Cousins received her wings and transitioned from this life to eternal life on Sunday November 20th at her residence. Ms. Theresa Carnell Cousins was born December 11, 1926 in Union MS to parents Frank and Estelle Hunter. She moved to Flint, Michigan in March of 1945 with her parents, sister and brothers. Theresa attended public schools in Union, MS. She gained employment at the Fisher Ternstedt Plant, a division of General Motors where she was a member of UAW Local #326 for over 30 years. Theresa united with the Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church where she was a long time member. She loved being with her family talking, cooking and laughing. Theresa was a Master Chef and her pound cakes just couldn't be beat! She loved all sports and when you visited, she was sure to have some kind of game on the TV. Grandmother as she was affectionately called loved to laugh and had a great sense of humor! Theresa was loved and will be sadly be missed by her children and grandchildren and all who loved her. Ms. Theresa Carnell Cousins leaves to mourn her passing: 7 children, 3 daughters, Terry Hoey of Rochester Hills, MI, Lisa (Samuel) Lee of Grand Blanc, MI and Kimberly Davis; 4 sons, Iverson (Bennita) Drummond, Roy Haney, Kevin Haney, all of Flint and Loren Drummond of Detroit, MI; beloved grandson whom she raised, Darius D. Harris of Mt. Morris, MI; 27 grandchildren, Albert Edwards, Henry Edwards, Christopher Lee, Charles (Lillian) Fair Duane Bailey, Roy Haney, Antwaine Walker, Ricardo (Lemetrie) Walker, Jeremy Drummond, Kenny Drummond and Iverson (Alisha) Williams, Michael Harris, Tonya Edwards, Riana Edwards, Monica Edwards, Tiffany (Kenneth) Davenport, Theresa Wolfe, Chewana Anowi, Nicole Crawford, DeQuinda Fair, Kanique Lee, Samiko Lee, Alexis Haney, Amia Haney, Malena Haney, Syrita Williams; 53 great-grandchildren; brother, John W Hunter; brother-in-law, Lester Wells; 3 nephews, Lester Jr. (Karlene) Wells, Shaun Hunter and Gregory Holiday; niece, Sheila D. Wells; many cousins and friends survive. Ms. Cousins was preceded in death by her daughters, Linda Edwards and Karen Harris; grandchildren, Tamiko Harris and Jamar Lee; great-grandson, Isaiah Williams; parents, Frank and Estelle Hunter; sister, Velma Ruth Wells; brother, Frank Hunter Jr. The family would like to thank Dr. Syed Sattar, Dr. Dilip Desai, Heart to Heart Hospice and the 9th Floor Nursing Station of Hurley Regional Medical Center, Rev. Dr. Henry L. Fuller Jr. and the Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church family, and the many friends and family that consoled us in our time of bereavement.
