Mr. Theodore Roosevelt "Ted" Ruth Sr.

RUTH, Mr. Theodore Sr. "Ted" - Age 76, passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at McLaren-Flint. Family hour 10:00 AM Thursday, May 23, 2019 at Triumph Church-Flint Campus, 1657 Broadway Blvd., Pastor Lawrence Vaughn officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Association, G-4413 Flushing Rd., Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:00 AM Thursday. Mr. Ruth will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12:00 PM - 8:00 PM Wednesday. In God’s perfect timing, Theodore “Ted” Ruth, age 76 made his transition to his Heavenly Home on May 15, 2019 at McLaren-Flint. Mr. Theodore Roosevelt Ruth Sr. was born April 22, 1943 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, the son of the late Elder James L. and Selma R. (Dorn) Ruth. He was the middle child of 14 children. Ted graduated from Coleman High School in Pine Bluff. He later moved to Flint, Michigan where he was employed by Fisher I and Buick Motor Company, divisions of General Motors Corporation for over 40 years. In June 1989, he married Orean (Allen) Ruth, together they spent 30+ years with total of 4 beautiful children. Mr. Ted accepted Christ at an early age. He later rededicated his life to Christ under the leadership of Bishop James O. Flowers Sr. (Pastor Emeritus), North Star Baptist Church. Mr. Ted was a very hard worker who had a passion for carpentry. He always stayed busy fixing things and helping others. His interests included, shooting pool, playing Dominoes, cards and bowling. Ted loved watching basketball, Western shows and movies. He was known for his Barbecue that slides off the bone. Mr. Ted loved to give advice. Mr. Theodore Roosevelt Ruth Sr. will be lovingly missed by his lovely wife, Orean Ruth; 2 caring daughters, Tanisha Ruth of Dallas, TX and Shantel Ruth of Flushing, MI; 3 sisters, Mamie Adams of Conway, AR, Velma Williams and Queen Ruth; 4 brothers, Bewing Dorning, all of Pine Bluff, AR, Earlie (Gurtie) Ruth of Grapevine, AR, Mac O. (Charlene) of Pine Bluff, AR and Johnnie (Rosetta) of Little Rock, AR; 5 grandchildren, Tyrone Allen Jr., Tyler Allen, Lydell Brown, all of Clio, MI, Lauren Thornton of Flushing, MI and Tierra Allen of Flint; 2 great-grandchildren, Kamarri Brown and Messiah Water, all of Flint; 5 sisters-in-law, Ester Ruth of Pine Bluff, AR, Mitzi Ruth Grapevine, AR, Augustine Allen of Arlington, TX, Patricia (Wayne) Walker of Fayetteville, NC and Linda (David) Sanders of Dumas, AR; 4 brothers-in-law, Joe Lee Allen, Rickey Allen, both of Little Rock, AR, James Russell (Yvonne) Allen and Mickey Lynn Allen, all of Dumas, AR; 6 aunts; 4 uncles; a host of other relatives and friends. Mr. Ruth was preceded in death by his sons, Theodore R. Ruth Jr. and Tyrone D. Allen Sr.; father, James L. Ruth; mother, Selma R. (Dorn) Ruth; sister, Lillian Ruth; brothers, Richard Ruth, Samuel Ruth, Joel Ruth, LeRoy Ruth and Thomas Ruth. The family would like to express special thanks to Terre Haute Regional Hospital in Terre Haute, IN, McLaren-Flint, Pastor Lawrence Vaughn, Bishop James O.
