LANE, Mr. Theodis - Age 80, passed away Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at his residence. Family hour 1:30 PM Saturday, July 12, 2025, from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 2:00 PM. Interment Great Lakes National Cemetery, G-4200 Belford Rd, Holly MI. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the Chapel 1:30 PM Saturday. Mr. Lane will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed Friday, July 11, 2025, from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM. Theodis U. L. Lane, a devoted husband, father, veteran, and community mentor, passed away peacefully on June 24, 2025, in Flint, Michigan, at the age of 80. Theodis was born on October 18, 1944, in Metter, Georgia, the family relocated to Flint, Michigan, in 1955 where he attended the Flint Public Schools and graduated from Flint Northwestern, “Class of 1965.” He also attended classes at Mott Community College making use of his GI Bill. Theodis lived a life rooted in service, love, and leadership. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army during the Vietnam War, demonstrating courage, honor, and dedication. He loved to roller-skate. After his military service, Theodis built a successful 30-year career with General Motors Corporation. Known for his strong work ethic and unwavering commitment, he was respected by colleagues and friends alike. Theodis was united in marriage to Diane Fairfax Lane; they had two children, Terrence and Shirley Ann Lane (deceased). After being divorced, he Married Beatrice Lane; they had two children, Darnisha & Roslyan Lane; and then his met his life love Patricia Lane, no children, but they spent 37 years together where Pat accepted the role as Bonus mother to his children: He was a loving and supportive father, always present and always proud. Beyond his professional life, Theodis committed his life to Christ while attending Abundant Life Ministries. He had a passion for travel and enjoyed cruising, spending time with his family, yardwork and giving back to his community. He volunteered at Dort Elementary School as a Teacher's Aide for several years after retirement. He especially enjoyed mentoring local youth and was known as a father figure to many boys and girls in the neighborhood. He held a special place in his heart for his firstborn nephew Jerry Franklin, his other son. He volunteered tirelessly until his health declined, always leading with a generous heart and wise words. Theodis U. L. Lane leaves to cherish his memory: wife, Patricia Lane; siblings, Christine Henry, Marva Johnson, and Marilyn Clements; Children, Terrence (Kim) T. Lane of Grosse Pointe, MI; Darnisha Lane and Roslyan Lane of Ft. Myers, Florida; grandchildren, Brittany Fulton (Desmond) West Bloomfield, MI, Cameron Lane of Ft. Myers, Jakoby Byron of Flint, Finn Michael Carter of Ft. Myers, Ania Lane of Garland TX, Terrence Lane II (Currently residing in Japan), Daniel Lane, and Joshua Lane of Grosse Pointe, MI; great-grandchildren, Lane and Desmond Fulton II of West Bloomfield, MI, and Kai Cummings of Garland, TX; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Theodis was preceded in death by his daughter, Shirley Lane; parents, Theodis and Juanita (Hodges) Lane; two brothers, Donnell and Eugene Lane. His legacy of strength, kindness, and service will live on in all who were blessed to know him. He will be deeply missed but remembered always — as a hero, a role model, and a man who made a lasting difference.
