Mrs. Thelma Teamer

TEAMER, Mrs. Thelma - Age 74, passed away Thursday, April 27, 2023 at Select Specialty Hospital in Flint. Family hour 10:30 AM Tuesday, May 9, 2023 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM. Rev. Lee I. Brown Jr., officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the chapel 10:30 AM Tuesday. Mrs. Teamer will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM Monday. Ms. Thelma Terry Teamer was born June 27, 1948 in Covington, Tennessee. Thelma was the 7th of nine children from the union of the late Walter Terry Sr. and Annie Mai Burrell Terry. She accepted Christ at an early age and attended St Matthews Baptist Church in Stanton, TN. Thelma graduated from Frazier High School in 1966. Shortly after she graduated, she and several of her siblings moved to Flint, Michigan and became employees of General Motors Corporation where she was an employee for over 35 years. She met another Covington native in Flint, Walter Teamer shortly after arriving in Flint. They were joined in Holy matrimony in 1969. Two children were born from their union. The most important thing to Thelma was spending time with her family and her closest friends. She often showed her profound love for them by cooking, making beautiful flower arrangements and other acts of kindness, often times just giving things to them. Thelma loved to get dressed up. For many years she was known as the “St. John and Hat Lady”……She also enjoyed cars as well. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin, niece and friend……if she loved and cared about you…..you knew it. Ms. Thelma Terry Teamer leaves to cherish her memories: two sons, Cedric Teamer and Terance Teamer; four grandchildren, Tyler Teamer, Toranc Teamer, Orion Teamer-Torres, and Triston Teamer; two sisters, Esther Terry of Flint, MI and Bertha Sanders of Millington, TN; aunt, Mary Fletcher of Memphis, TN; special friends, Ms. Georgia McCall and Mrs. Doris Thomas; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Ms. Teamer was preceded in death by her parents, Walter Terry Sr. and Annie Mai Burrell Terry; aunt, Ivy Burrell Davis; 5 sisters, Laura Brown, Elizbeth Boyd, Lucille Sneed, Ruthie Mae Dye, and Emma “Jean” Terry; 2 brothers, Eddie Will Burchett and Walter Terry Jr; niece, Catherine Boyd; and nephew, Robert Louis Boyd Jr.
