LEWIS, Mrs. Thelma Marie - Age 53, passed away Saturday, January 30, 2016 at her residence. Family hour 11 a.m. Friday, February 12, 2016 at Heavenly Host of the Harvest Church, 2202 W. Dartmouth St., with funeral service commencing at 12 p.m. Bishop Neal Roberson officiating. Interment River Rest Cemetery, G-4413 E. Flushing Rd., Flint, MI. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 11 a.m. Friday. Mrs. Lewis will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12 p.m. - 8 p.m. Thursday, with the family present 5 p.m.-8 p.m. Ms. Thelma Marie “ReRe” Kahee-Lewis was born April 4, 1962 in Flint, Michigan the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Eackle and Ola Mae (Snowden) Kahee. She made her transition from her Earthly home to her eternal rest on January 30, 2016 at her residence. Thelma accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age, becoming a member of Gospel Temple Missionary Baptist Church. Later in life becoming a member of Holy Trinity Missionary Baptist Church. ”ReRe” attended Flint Public Schools. She had many skills sets and it showed once working at Wendy’s Restaurant, Genesys Regional Medical Center and Home Clinic PC. “ReRe’ welcomed her knack and ability to care for others. Those strengths of compassion were clearly demonstrated in the dedication she showed in the care she provided for her close family and friends. Many would shy away from such a responsibility, but not “ReRe”. With a beautiful smile and full of laughter she truly knew how to get the job done. If hearts were made of gold, she would have been rich. “ReRe’ was a friend to all and always a friend to those in need. Her role as grandmother to Ja’Kavien, Semaj and Amishi brought her an abundance of pride and joy. The love for her family was a driving force, and for that, we love her so very much. Our bond extends beyond words and gestures. Ms. Thelma Marie “ReRe Kahee- Lewis leaves to continue her legacy daughters; Latoya (James) Jenkins, Bionca (James Skinner-Shields, Special Friend) Lewis; grandchildren, Ja’Kavien Lewis, Semaj Jenkins and Amishi Shields; sister, Marva Dukes; aunts, Bobby (Perry) Gullie of Prescott, AR and Edna Kahee of Flint; uncle, Edward Kahee of Flint; nieces, Crystal Cockrane, Ciera Greer and Nicole Hubbard; nephews, Alvin Hare and Teril Cooper; a host of other relatives in the Kahee, Snowden, Gullie, King, Brown, Lock, Hollins and McClinton families. “ReRe” was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Eackle and Ola Mae (Snowden) Kahee; sister, Pamela Kahee; brothers, Willie and Anthony Kahee; brother-in-law, Rev. Willie L. Dukes; former husband, Harry Lewis; both maternal and paternal grandparents; as well as a host of other relatives and special friends. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Lawrence E. Moon and his staff, Holy Trinity Church family, Bishop Neal Roberson and the Heavenly Host Church of the Harvest family.
