ANDERSON, Ms. Terry (Brandon) - Age 61, went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, August 11, 2013 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 11 a.m. Saturday, August 17, 2013 at New Beginnings Ministry, G-5227 Beecher Rd., with funeral service commencing at 12 noon. Apostle Clarence L. Lewis, Sr., officiating. Interment River Rest Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 11 a.m. Saturday. Ms. Anderson will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12 noon-8 p.m. Friday with family present from 4-6 p.m. Ms. Terry Lynn (Brandon) Anderson was born September 2, 1951 in Flint, Michigan to Maxie and Esther Dezeray (Roland) Brandon. She attended Parkland Elementary School, Emerson Junior High and graduated from Northern High School, “Class of 1969.” Terry worked for the Flint Community Schools in her younger years as a Paraprofessional at Dort Elementary School. She also worked in Retail, Real Estate, Automotive (GM), Cake Decorating, Banking, Medical Billing and Daycare at Charity United Methodist. She accepted Christ and was baptized at Metropolitan Baptist Church at an early age. She later became a member of Blackwell AME Zion Church and her final move was to New Beginnings Ministry, where she was active on the Helping Hands Ministry, Kitchen Committee, Wednesday Morning Bible Study Crew, Floral Ministry and the Visitation Ministry. Terry attended Sunday school, and was a member of the Flint City Wide Choir. She leaves to cherish her memory: 2 sons, Damarius Anderson (Libbey) and Percy L. Anderson, Jr.; 8 grandchildren, Percy III, Brianna, Knowan, Taia, Kiera, Nala, Asia and Naomi; special daughter, Pam Cooley; God daughters, LaTasha Barton-Anderson and Briana Cox; 2 sisters, Jethene Ross and Claudette Brandon; special sister, Jerry Miller; God sister, JoAnn Dockery; brother, Maxie (Margaret) Brandon; God brother, Edward Johnson; 5 nieces, Nikole Dent, Dionna and Da’Shawn Ross, Marva Bradsford and Tyra Evans-Taylor; 12 great nieces including special great niece, Lauren Blassingame; 3 nephews, Herbert, Marvin and Goliday Liddell (Sherry) and Van Evans; 5 great nephews; 3 great-great nieces; 3 great-great nephews; 3 aunts, Zernie Bacon, Zeffrie (Monroe) Adams and Frances Brandon; special aunt, Ann Heddrix; uncle, John (Yolanda) Chatmon; God parents, Lovelace and Verta Hamilton; special friends, Janise Neeley, Nancine Jackson, Inez Goodman, Patricia Stocker, David and Cindy Cox, Sharon Fleming, Linda and Eddie Booth; special cousins, Marcia Teer, Robin Roland, Gwendolyn Robinson, Betty Edwards, Pamela Altheimer and a host of other cousins; special family friends, Leroy Blassingame Sr., Percy Anderson Sr., father of her children, Willie Grant Jr., James Jarrett, Donna “Cookie” Jones, Judy Malone, Mary and Marjorie Chapmon and family, Barbara Richmond, Susie Crosslin, the Roland, Brandon, Greene, Dent, Jarrett, Ross, Fleming, Peterson and Blassingame families, Ludille (Bubble) Barton, Bettina Campbell, the Baldwin Blvd., and Gracelawn St. neighbors, Rev. Ms. Anderson was preceded in death by her parents, Max and Esther Dezeray Brandon, Sr.; sister, Delaine Blassingame; nephew, LeRoy Blassingame Jr.; brother-in-law, Don Ross; niece, Brownie Walker; and nephew, Grayland Liddell.
