JENKINS, Mr. Terris - Age 56, passed away Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at Univ. Of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor, MI. Family hour 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church, 106 E. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM, Pastor Edward Smith, officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the Church 10:30 AM Wednesday. Mr. Jenkins will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 1:00 PM-8:00 PM Tuesday. Mr. Terris Jenkins, age 56, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at the University of Michigan Hospital, Ann Arbor, Michigan. Terris was born June 23, 1962 in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Walter and Irma Jenkins. He accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Bread of Life Church in Chicago, IL. Terris moved to Flint, Michigan with his family in 1974 and united with Heavenly Host Full Gospel Baptist Church. He graduated from Flint Northern High School, “Class of 1980” and attended Mott Community College. Terris enjoyed life to the fullest. His hobbies were traveling, reading, watching sports, keeping his yard manicured and spending quality time with family and friends. Terris was united in marriage on July 21, 1990 to Vera Sharp and from this union a daughter, Ariel Yasmeen Jenkins was born. He was a member of Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church. Mr. Terris Jenkins leaves to cherish his memory: wife of 28 years, Vera Jenkins; daughter, Ariel Yasmeen Jenkins; parents, Walter and Irma Jenkins; sister, Teresa (Michael) Johnson, all of Flint; 2 brothers, Walter (Tracy) Jenkins Jr. of Grand Blanc, MI and Darryl Jenkins; aunts, Barbara (Clifton) Turner of Flint and Anniece Spencer of Chicago, IL; nieces, LaTrisha (Justin) Pridgeo, Temeka Hemphill, Sabrina Hemphill and Nichole Sharp; nephews, Marcel, Darryl Jr., Charles, Preston and Jordan Sharp; a host of cousins, other relatives and friends including special friends, Kenneth Rhodes, Jake Johnson and Ronald Shields. Mr. Jenkins was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ira and Ceola Shorter, Leo and Ora Jenkins; and mother-in-law, Viola Sharp. The family would like to express special thanks to the doctors and staff of the University of Michigan Hospital, Ann Arbor, MI and Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church family
