Ms. Tasheona Oshell Jones

JONES, Ms. Tasheona Oshell - Age 25, passed away Tuesday, September 15, 2020 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 10:00 AM Wednesday, September 23, 2020 from Ebenezer Ministries, 2130 S. Center Rd., Burton, MI with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM. Friends and family will assemble at the church 10:00 AM Wednesday. Ms. Jones will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM Tuesday. Ms. Tasheona Oshell Jones was born July 12, 1995 in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Teffony Jones, Omari Duncan and Lavard Louis. Tasheona was a resident of Lansing, MI and a member of Kingdom of Heaven Ministries. She accepted Christ at an early age. Tasheona graduated from Carmen-Ainsworth High School, “Class of 2013” with honors. She went on to further her education at Eastern Michigan University where she received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Design Engineering in 2018 and a Master Degree in Design Engineering from Indiana Tech in 2020. She was previously employed with Consumers Energy as a Tech 2 in Electric Instrumental & Culture Design Team where she worked creating electrical construction design packages to support electrical components located at our Natural Gas facility. Tasheona loved to draw and was very motivated, caring, giving, peace making and happy go lucky. She was a traveler and celebrated her 25th birthday with family in Florida on July 12, 2020. Tasheona loved her family to the fullest, her pet peeve “didn’t like liars or gossipers” and loved to debate! She enjoyed going out, having a good time and spending time with the ones she loved. Tasheona would speak her mind regardless of whether you wanted to hear it or not, she strived for pride and excellence! She was accepted in a honors program for Pre-Engineering at Kettering University in the 11th grade of high school from over 1000 applicants that applied from all over the world. She was an excellent supporter to all. Education was a must to Tasheona. Ms. Tasheona Oshell Jones leaves to cherish her memory: parents, Teffony Jones, Omari Duncan and Lavard Louis; grandparents, Dorothy Standokes, Ruby Duncan, both of Flint, Lavard (Glinder) Louis of Memphis, TN; great-grandparents, Rufus (Frances) Duncan of Flint; 2 sisters, Seaira Duncan of Flint and Journee McDonald of Knoxville, TN; 4 brothers, Omari Duncan, Domonic Brandt, Keleb Brandt and Daron Louis, all of Flint; very special nephew, Kevon Coleman Jr.; 8 aunts, Kalsey Jones, Iesha Carroll, Jacqueline Gibson, Okeym Sims, all of Flint, Mardana Thompson of Rossville, GA, Angel Louis of Olive Branch, MS and special aunt, Yashica Warren of Los Angeles, CA; 10 uncles, Stan Standokes, Evan Standokes, DeJuan Carroll, Charles Daniels, Earnest Standokes Jr., DeOnta Wiliams, Ernest Jones, Chauncey P. Vaughn, all of Flint, Jarvis Carroll of Dallas, TX and Sherrard Williams of Texarkana, TX; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, best friends, Quenishia and DeNisha, the neighbors of Clement Street and god-mother, Stephanie Stone. Ms. Jones was preceded in death by the love of her life, Brandon Williams (09/15/2020); grandfather, Ernest Standokes; great-grandparents, Robert (Eva) Jones; grandfather, Charles Sims; grandmother, Annie Anderson; great-grandmother, Margaret Gamble; great-grandfather, Troy Standokes; and great-uncle, Willie Duncan.
