Mr. Steve Taylor

TAYLOR, Mr. Steve - Age 59, passed away Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at his residence. Family hour 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at New Jerusalem Full Gospel Baptist Church, 1035 E. Carpenter Rd., with funeral service commencing at 11 a.m. Interment Flint Memorial Park Cemetery, G-9506 Dort Hwy. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10 a.m. Tuesday. Mr. Taylor will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 4-8 p.m. Monday. Mr. Steve Taylor was born June 9, 1953 in Flint, Michigan, the son Ernest S. Taylor, Jr. and Cillia R. (Marion) McMullan-Chaney. Steve was employed by General Motors Engine Plant for 37 years. He attended Ferris State University and the University of Michigan, where he was a very good student. Steve loved his entire family immensely and his grandchildren held a very special place in his heart. He loved life and lived life to the fullest. He accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior. Mr. Steve Taylor leaves to cherish his memory: wife, Andre M. (Mclemore) Taylor of Flint; 5 daughters, Yuanna Taylor, Nadia (Frederick) Rivers, Kai Taylor, Nikki Mems-Taylor and Regina Ferguson; grandchildren, Bria Holmes, Bryson and Bianca Rivers of Killeen, TX, Marquel Holmes and Janay Ferguson; 3 sisters, Kim (Farid) Ghassemian, LaQuantus Neal and Yashica Neal; 5 brothers, Apostle Dana A. Chaney, Matthew C. Chaney of Flint, Tracy (Sandra) Taylor of Denver, CO, Mario Taylor of Miami, FL and Maurice (Sandra) Cox; 4 nieces, Pasha Chaney, Cydni Chaney, Aysia Taylor and Layla Ghassemian; nephew, Darius Ghassemian; aunts, Helen McMullan- Edwards, Ida McMullan-Spencer, Delisa McMullan-Sweeney and Elizabeth Taylor; uncle, Maurice (Betty) McMullan of Ypsilanti, MI; a host of other relatives and friends including special cousin, Carl “Bo” McMullan, The McMullan,Taylor and Chaney families and Conrad Bell. Mr. Taylor was preceded in death by his son, Yuan-kee Taylor; mother, Cillia Chaney; father, Ernest Taylor, Jr.; stepfather, Marion Chaney; grandparents, Matthew and Emma Lucille McMullan, Ernest and Helen Taylor, Sr.; and brother, Michael Chaney. The family would like to express special thanks to Mary Taylor, McLaren Visiting Nurse and Hospice Service, New Jerusalem Full Gospel Baptist Church.
