JOHNSON, Mr. Steve Sr. "King Baby" - Age 71, passed away Saturday, January 30, 2016 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 10 a.m. Saturday, February 6, 2016 at The Cross Missionary Baptist Church, 3063 W. Coldwater Rd. Mt. Morris, MI, with funeral service commencing at 11 a.m. Pastor Oscar Hare presiding, Rev. Greg Hare officiating. Interment Lovedale Memorial Cemetery, G-5175 E. Bristol Rd., Burton, MI. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10 a.m. Saturday. Mr. Johnson will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12 p.m. - 8 p.m. Friday. Mr. Steve Johnson, Sr. “King Baby” was born February 14, 1944 in Frenchman, Arkansas, the son of Henry Johnson, Sr. and Della Kimble. He was employed at Buick Motor Company, a division of General Motors retiring after 37.5 years of service and was a member of UAW Local #599. Steve loved to Barbecue, to dress and wear his hats. He was the neighborhood watchman always looking out for his neighbors. You could never win an argument with him. Mr. Steve Johnson, Sr. “King Baby” leaves to cherish his memory: wife, Mitcheree Johnson of Flint; 2 daughters, Michelle (Larry) Doby of Grand Blanc, MI and Marilyn Townsend; 2 sons, Steve Johnson, Jr. and Lee (Rayvena) Johnson; 6 grandchildren, Katerra Johson, all of Flint, Tre’Von Johnson of Arlington, TX, Sheena Davis of Lakeside, FL, Tre’Montae Johnson of Flint, Darius Taylor of Houston, TX and Rayvon Johnson of Flint; 6 great-grandchildren; 5 sisters, Bessie Evans, Stella B. Washington, Paristine Paige, Jennie Johnson, all of Arkansas and Diean Johnson of Flint; 4 brothers, Albert Lee (Brenda) Johnson of Chicago, IL, Charles (Cynthia) Johnson of Bloomington, IL, Lee Amos Johson of Flint and Larry Johnson of Arkansas; a host of nieces and nephews; 2 aunts, Violet Singleton of Bloomington, IL and Ossie Lee Jackson of Milwaukee, WI; 2 uncles, James Johnson of Bloomington, IL and Thearthur Johnson; 3 sisters-in-law, Gladys Scott, Vera (William) Robinson and Levella Reeves, all of Arkansas; 4 brothers-in-law, Tommy Scott of Las Vegas, NV, Bobby (Teretha) Scott, Sam (Ida) Scott, all of Alabama and Larry Scott of Flint; a host of other relatives and friends. Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his father, Henry Johnson, Sr.; mother, Della Kimbrough; 2 sisters, Erma Jean Dorsey and Alice Mae Stricklen; brother, James L. Johnson.
