BOONE, Pastor Stephen - Age 75, passed away Friday, January 9, 2026 at his residence. Family hour 10:00 AM Saturday, January 31, 2026 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM, Apostle Bobby Johnson officiating. Interment River Rest Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the Funeral Home 10: 00 AM Saturday, January 31, 2026. Pastor Boone will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home. Public viewing will be held during the family hour only. Stephen Boone was born February 9, 1950, in Chicago, Illinois, the son of the late Dewitt and Sallye (Campbell) Boone. Stephen was the youngest of four children and very close to his siblings, especially Carol. Stephen grew up in Flint and attended Flint Public schools graduating from Northwestern High School in 1968. He also attended Mott Community College as part of the General Motors Skilled Trade Apprentice Program. Stephen graduated from the program becoming a machinist. He loved the Lord and his church family, Divine Grace Ministries. Stephen enjoyed traveling, attending baseball games around the country and watching basketball and football games. Stephen Boone leaves to cherish his memory spouse, Marcia Boone of Flint, MI; son, Stephen David Boone, Jr.; 2 daughters, Sherrese Harris and Precious (Marcola) Powell; sister, Carol Robinson, brothers-in-law, Rolande (Andrea) Stanley and Maurice Bowdry; eleven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends; grandchildren, Stephen Dadrian Boone, Cassidy Boone, Mariyah, Miya and Marcus Powell, Darrell Jones II, Aaryn Campbell, Brishari Harris and Tre’ Quez Lyons; great-grandchildren, Bria and Ace Harden, Lily Ann Diallo, Vivienne Jones, Jahleel Campbell, Ziarre Thompson, Masi Harris, Kaline Thomas and Kaeili Steward; nieces Kimberly Ross and Yolanda Steward; nephews, Kenneth Ross, Keith (Sheila) Ross, Kevin Ross, Kris Ross, Craig and Brian Pickett, Gregory (Kim) Bolden, Matthew Wells, Steven (Tanais) Wells and Dustin M. Pickett; cousins, James (Sharon) Campbell, Aneta (Danny) Wilkerson, Ruthie (Milas) Caudle, Clayton Turner, Jacqueline (Reginald) Banks, Gerald Turner, William ( Carolyn) Turner, Rhonda Wilbur, Lester (Kristen) Wells, Henry (Kimberly) Hall, Bryan (Judy) Dent and Jeffery (Honeybet) Dent. Stephen was preceded in death by his parents, Dewitt and Sallye (Campbell) Boone; sisters, Deloris (Thomas) Bolden and Doris Pickett; son-in-law, Darrell Jones Sr.; mother-in-law, Althea French; father-in-law Robert Pea Sr.; brothers-in-law, Sherron Jones and Glynn Stanley. The family would like to express special thanks to Dr. Kelvin Callaway and staff, Divine Grace Ministries family, Blackwell AME Zion Church family and Joy McKenze.
