ELY, Mrs. Stella Juanita - Age 66, passed away Tuesday, March 4, 2008 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 10:30AM Tuesday, March 11, 2008 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service at 11AM. Prince Charlie Poole, officiating. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home 10:30AM Tuesday. Mrs. Ely will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 12Noon-8PM Monday. Stella Juanita Ely was born August 15, 1941 in Pipers, Alabama, the daughter of Earlene Crittenden and Authur Bennett Rhode. She resided in Flint until her passing. She attended Mott Community College. Stella gave her life to Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at an early age. She was a faithful member of Triumph the Church and Kingdom of God in Christ where she served as Missionary, National Evangelist and Shepherd Mother. Stella married Gerald Wodford and from this union two daughters were born. She later married Allen Ely and to this union, one son was born. Stella Juanita Ely leaves to cherish her memory: 2 daughters, Kim Ludean (Carlos) Gunther and Twinette Denise Ball, all of Flint; son, Christopher Kerry Ely of Atlanta, GA; honorary children, Yolanda DeShawn Brown of Grand Rapids, MI and Shenita Rochelle Dye of Flint; grandchildren, Nickolaus Andrew Wodford, Adryan O'Ryan Ross and Mary Francis Young, all of Flint; 2 honorary grandchildren, Thomas Terrell Rawls and Thomas Tyrell Rawls, both of Flint; 4 sisters, Edna Harrison of Houston, TX, Debra (Bruce) Strong, Marilyn (Zegogery) Hill and Paulette Williams, all of Flint; 5 brothers, J.D. Charles Steward, Thaddeus Carl (Linda) Williams and Alonzo Williams, all of Flint, Earl Williams of Lancaster, CA and Paul Michael (Denise) Williams of Flint; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins including, James Curtis Mack of Flint; other relatives and friends. Stella was preceded in death by her husband, Allen Ely; mother, Earlene Crittenden; father, Authur Bennett Rhode; grandparents, J.C. and Irandy Nettles; sisters, Louise Rhode and Cornelia Steward; brother, Roosevelt Williams; aunt, Rose Mack; uncle, William Nettles; niece, Gala Fry; nephews, Tyrone Manuel Williams and Randy Edgar Harrison; and cousin, Michael Mack.
