Mr. Spencer Morgan Turner

TURNER, Mr. Spencer Morgan - Age 72, passed away Monday, August 29, 2022, in Georgia. Family hour 10:30 AM Saturday, September 10, 2022, at Mt. Tabor Missionary Baptist Church, 115 Welch Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM Pastor Floyd Fuller officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Family and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:30 AM Saturday. Mr. Turner will lie in state at Mt. Tabor Missionary Baptist Church and may be viewed during the family hour only. Spencer Morgan Turner made his heavenly transition from his home in Kennesaw, Georgia, on Monday, August 29, 2022. Spencer was born August 28, 1950, in Flint, Michigan, to the union of Jackson and Clayta Turner. He was baptized at an early age at Blackwell A.M.E. Zion Church. Spencer attended Flint Public Schools and graduated from Flint Central High School in 1969. He continued his education at Western Michigan University, where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in engineering. Spencer worked for Hurley Medical Center’s Physical Plant most of his career and retired in 2000. He later worked as a dispatcher for the Campus Safety Department at Baker College-Flint. Spencer was devoted to his family and loved planning and attending family events. He often assisted in planning family reunions. Spencer believed in community service and volunteered for several years as a Genesee County special deputy. He was a certified firearms instructor and enjoyed teaching classes. Mr. Turner leaves to cherish his memory: his devoted wife, Rose Luster Turner, son, Jarrell Turner of Flint, Michigan and stepson, Jason Monk of Atlanta, Georgia; sister, Jacqueline (Reginald) Banks of Sacramento, California; three brothers, Clayton (Sabrina) Turner, William (Carolyn) Turner and Gerald Turner, all of Flint; Aunt, Rosemary Turner of San Antonio, Texas; Mother-in-law, Rosetta Luster of Kennesaw Georgia; Sister-in-laws, Joyce Harris of Flint, Michigan, and Cheryl Smith of Kennesaw, Georgia; brother-in-law’s, Veo Luster Jr. of Flint, Michigan and Frederick Luster of Louisville, Kentucky, and a host nieces and nephews. Spencer was preceded in death by his parents Jackson and Clayta Turner and nephew, Jason Banks. The family of Spencer Morgan Turner would like to express special thanks to Dr. John French and the doctors and nurses at Kennestone and WellStar Cobb Hospitals. Pastor Floyd Fuller and the Mt.
