Mrs. Sophy Elaine Tucker

TUCKER, Mrs. Sophy - Age 56, passed away Sunday, October 30, 2022 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 10:00 AM Wednesday, November 9, 2022 from the chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM. Rev. Willie Towner, officiating. Interment Sunset Hillls Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the chapel 10:00 AM Wednesday. Mrs. Tucker will lie in state at the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon and may be viewed from 12:00PM - 6:00PM. Mrs. Sophy Elaine Tucker was “Queen Bee” to her children, was called home by the Lord October 30, 2022. Sophy was born a bundle of Joy June 3, 1966 to Eleanor Burkett and Mahir Rashid. Sophy graduated from Southeast Arkansas College with an Associate Degree. She worked varies jobs in her life. Her last job before her departure was educating as a Teacher’s Aid, and Secretary for the Beecher Alternative School with her students whom she loved and they loved her. She was a member of United Missionary Baptist Church in Flint, Liberty Hill and Grace of Mercy in Arkansas. Sophy leaves in Sweet Memories: her husband, Lilton Tucker of 27+ years; sons, Eugene Moore Jr., Dominque (Olivia) Moore, Mahir (Brendetta) Tucker and Lilton Dante (Kim) Tucker; grandchildren, Julius, Zahnyah, Lebron, Heaven, Kamariya, Lilton Jr. Garbrielle and Lathan, Mahir Jr. whom she called “Scooter” and Sha’zai Tucker, Dominque Jr. and Nazarea whom she called “Sunshine” Moore; great –grandchild, Messiah Tucker, also to cherish her memories: her beloved sister, Tonja Jean Hawthorne; brother, Larry (Mary) Hawthorne, Nile K. Hawthorne, John (Trina) Hawthorne; Sophy has her uncles to cherish her memory: Leonard (Vera) Burkett, Ivan and Melvin Hawthorne, and Brady (Frances) Odom; sisters, Tonja Hawthorne; brothers, Larry, Nile Hawthorne, and John Hawthorne; a host of nieces, Jessica, Cee Cee, Crystal, Brandi, Angel, Sabrina, Tanisha, Barbara, Bannie, Carolyn, Gwen, Deborah and Nikki; step-brothers and step-sisters, Abdul, Yamini, Vance, Malik, Faten, Ikram, Sharonda, Chrystal and Sydia; nephews who will forever cherish her kindness and love, Demetrius, Derrick, Voshawn, Nile Hawthorne Jr. and Adrian; 5 great-nephews and great-nieces, KeJuan Jackson, Rashid Reaves Jr. Ceana Reaves, Mason Clark, Treviante Andrew Jr., Jayden Andrew and Kimiya Nunn; nephews and nieces overseas, Nileando Brandon, Larry Jr., Kasandra and Ambrosia; great nephews, Liyam Knapp, Liyo Knapp, Brandon Hawthorne Jr. and Joderie Hawthorne; additional great-nephews and great-nieces, Elijah, Teheron, Nijah Williams; a host of cousin including special cousins, Pamela Younger; step-mother, Mrs. Kaye Rashid, whom she loved very much is left to cherish Sophy’s memory. Sophy was preceded in death by her grandmother, Ivella Hawthorne; grandma and grandpa, John and Lucille Burkett, Pearl Maker, Barbara Smith, Rev. Marcellus Burkett, Modie Rankin, Pearl Roriex and Gloridine Jordan; and sister-in-law, Wiselee McChester. RIP Baby Girl-Love Mama.
