Johnson, Mr. Smith Jr., - Age 54, passed away Saturday, December 12, 2020 at his residence. Mr. Johnson will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed Monday, December 21, 2020 from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM. Interment Gracelawn Community Cemetery, 5710 N. Saginaw St. Smith Johnson, Jr. transitioned from his earthly life on Saturday, December 12, 2020. He was born November 24, 1966 in Flint, Michigan. He was the youngest of 6 children born to Smith Johnson, Sr. and Willie B. (Jones) Johnson. Smith was a graduate of Hamady High School. He was employed by Tribar Manufacturing in Howell, Michigan. Smith accepted Christ as His Lord and Savior at Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church and was baptized by the Rev. Dr. Henry L. Fuller, Jr. Smith, affectionately known as baby “bay” Smith among his family and Smitty to others, was a jack of all trades. He was no stranger to work; carpentry, flooring, home refurbishing and repair, commercial cleaning; if a dollar could be earned doing it, he did it! Once asked if he knew anyone who had a security service, he replied, “yes, I have one.” Just like that Smitty’s Security Service was born! He leaves to cherish his memory four sisters, Diane (Earl) Crowder and Rochelle Johnson of Flint, Deborah Johnson of Shreveport, LA, Vernice Grover of Waukegan, IL.; three brothers, Smitty Tyrone (Laura Britz) Johnson of Marysville, MI, Sherrod (Tameko) Johnson of Frisco, Texas and Bill (Ruthy) Quarles of Holly, MI; nieces, Katonya Willingham, Shanique Presley, Tenea’ Johnson, Tequila Crawford, Imondre’ Johnson and Miyah Johnson; nephews, Vonroyce Johnson, Curtis Johnson, Jr., Victor Johnson, LaQuan Johnson, Cecil Washington IV, Aarien Johnson and Jazmond Blakely Charles Johnson, Jr, Darrin Johnson, Jeremiah (Candice) Quarles and Jonathan (Barika) Quarles,; a host of great nieces, a great-great niece, great nephews, cousins and many friends including, Dave Walker, Kenny Johnson and Fred Paige. He was preceded in death by his parents, Smith and Willie B. Johnson; Brothers, Curtis Johnson, Sr. and Charles Johnson; Sister, Betty Jean Foote; Grandparents, Enoch and Rosie Jones, James Wheeler Johnson and Arie Sims; Uncles, Landon Johnson, Jake Johnson and George Johnson; Aunts, Sallie Sykes, Diana B. Jones-Sanders, Clara Jones-Chambers, Francine Jones-Harris, Marie Johnson, Mable Johnson and Lelia Mae Johnson; Sister-in-law Joyce Johnson.
