Mrs. Silverine Henry

HENRY, Mrs. Silverine - Age 97, Passed away Saturday, November 23, 2019 at her residence. Silverine Henry went home to be with the Lord peacefully in the presence of her loving family on Saturday, November 23, 2019. She was born on October 22, 1922 in Pine Bluff Arkansas and was the ninth of eleven children born to the union of the late Amos and Delia Lovell. Silverine was united in holy matrimony to the love of her life Ezra Henry and together they raised an amazing daughter Delois Jones, who loved them dearly. Silverine received her education in the public schools of Pine Bluff, Arkansas. She received her formal training while attending beauty school in Little Rock and Pine Bluff, Arkansas and was a licensed cosmetologist through the Arkansas State Board of Cosmetology. She was a devoted member of the Arkansas Beautician Association and business owner. She traveled to hair shows throughout the south, enjoying her travels to Memphis, New Orleans, and Atlanta. She was an expert beautician and she serviced her clientele with the highest standard of care for over 60 years. She serviced women of multiple generations that could attest to the fact that no one could press hair like Silverine Henry. In addition to her affiliation with the Beautician Association she was also a member of the Eastern Star Order. Silverine confessed her faith in Christ at an early age at the St. Peters Rock Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. S. B. Roberts. She was a faithful worshipper and servant within the body of Christ for many years in the Church she loved. Silverine was the supervisor of the kitchen ministry and the church honored her by naming the kitchen pantry after her. She served on the Usher Board and the Churches Mission Society for many years. She was also a member of the Trustee Board and Finance Ministries. Silverine loved her Church Sunday School and was dedicated to reading the scriptures and the lessons. She was a woman who gave you great advice from the heart and if you listened you came away a better person. Silverine leaves to cherish her sweet memories a loving daughter Delois (William) Jones of Flint MI, three granddaughters Janice (Michael) Motley of Flushing MI, Debra (Frederick) McConnell of White Lake, MI and Barbara (Steven) Wade of Ypsilanti MI, nine great grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren, one sister Geraldine Holt and a God daughter Girtha Adway. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. For the special nieces and friends that showed her love throughout the years know that she loved you dearly. Silverine was proceeded in death by her Husband, Mother, Father and six sisters and three brothers. A Celebration of Life was held at the St. Peters Rock Baptist Church, Pine Bluff Arkansas on Saturday, November 30, 2019 after a Family Hour on Friday at 5:30 pm at the Brown Home for Funerals of Pine Bluff, Arkansas.
