WILLIAMS, Mother Shirley - Age 83, passed away Sunday, December 27, 2020 at her residence. Mother Williams will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed Monday, January 4, 2021 from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM. Pastor Janard Lakes, Words of Comfort. Interment 11:00 AM Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at Flint Memorial Park Cemetery, G-9506 N. Dort Hwy., Mt. Morris, MI. Mother Shirley Williams was born February 12, 1937 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, the daughter of Lillie Mae Chambers and Erving Wright. Shirley accepted Christ at an early age. She attended Pine Bluff Schools. She moved to Flint, Michigan in 1970, where she began working at Kings Daughter and Sons Nursing Home. Later, working for the City of Flint, retiring in 1985. Shirley became a member of Heavenly Host Full Gospel Baptist Church, working faithfully on the Usher Board under the leadership of Bishop MC Akins. Her favorite hobbies were, going fishing and to the garden to pick her greens. She enjoyed planning family picnics at the park with her family, especially with the grandchildren. Mother Shirley Williams leaves to cherish her memory: daughter, Erma Bolden; 3 sons, Larry Gibson, Maverick Turner and Roy Jackson; 4 step-daughters, Frances Clemons, Lavern Nelson, Marianne Alexander, all of Flint and Bobbi of Minnesota; 2 step-sons, Michael and Donald Williams, both of Flint; son-in-law, Darcell Price Jr.; 54 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; 25 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Catherine (JD) Smith of Pinola, MS; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins including special cousin, Gloria Stanton of Phoenix, AZ; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, Effie Gibbs, William “Bill” (Mamie) Holden, Maybelle Roman and Heavenly Host Full Gospel Baptist Church Usher Board. Mother Williams was preceded in death by her husband, Linzy Williams; daughter, Evon Price; 2 step-sons, James and Linzy Williams Jr.; parents, Lillie Mae Chambers and Erving Wright; step-parents, Dallas and Cornelous Walker; brothers, Eli “Alvin” and Erving Wright; son-in-law, Larry Bolden. The family would like to express special thanks to Professional Nursing, Mrs. Tamika Stitson personal care assistant, Pastor Janard Lakes and the Spirit of Victory Church family, granddaughter, Miria Gibson, daughter, Erma Bolden, Dr. Kelvin Callaway, Spirit of Victory Church family and McLaren Hospice.
