SNYDER, Mrs. Shirley Ann - Age 67, passed away Friday, April 27, 2018 at her residence. Family hour 10:00 AM Wednesday, May 2, 2018 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with the funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM Pastor Kenneth L. Stewart officiating. Interment Great Lakes National Cemetery, G-4200 Belford Rd., Holly, MI. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10:00 AM Wednesday. Mrs. Snyder will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed from 12:00 PM - 8:00 PM Tuesday. Mrs. Shirley Ann Snyder was born February 19, 1951 in West Memphis, Arkansas, the daughter of Ernest and Bettie Bass. She moved to Flint, Michigan in her early childhood. Shirley was a graduate of Flint Southwestern High School, “Class of 1969.” Following high school, with her strong work ethics she started her career in Dietary at St. Joseph Hospital and retired from Genesys with over 40 years of service. Shirley married Ray B. Snyder in March 1973 and raised 6 children. Shirley was a colorful woman who enjoyed home decorating and tending to her flower beds. She was a gifted cook, seamstress, and florists. Shirley looked forward to celebrating the holidays and spending time with her family. She enjoyed shopping, traveling and collecting unique things. Mrs. Shirley A. Snyder leaves to cherish her memory: daughters, Andrea (Rodney) Norwood of Pickerington, OH, Torina Bass of Clayton, NC and Tanea’ (James) Adams-Richmond of Knightdale, NC; 15 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; sisters, Shirley Jean Bass, Alicia Sanders, both of Flint, Diane Ellis and Shirley Denise Ellis, both of Chicago, IL; brothers, Omar K. Bass of Fort Wayne, IN, Gilbert Ellis of Battle Creek, MI, Ronald Ellis and Jerome Ellis, both of Chicago, IL; brother in-law, Oscar Snyder; a host of other relatives and friends. Mrs. Snyder was preceded in death by her husband, Ray B. Snyder; sons, Darin Bass, Raymond Parlor and Ray D. Snyder; grandson, Jarod Norwood; parents, Ernest and Bettie Bass, and James Ellis. The family wishes to express their gratitude for the many acts of kindness shown during their hours of bereavement. May God bless each of you and sustain a lasting peace within your soul.
