Mrs. Shirley Faye Morris

MORRIS, Mrs. Shirley Faye - Age 70, passed away Sunday, June 28, 2015 at her residence. Family hour 10 a.m. Friday, July 3, 2015 at New Jerusalem Full Gospel Baptist Church, 1035 E. Carpenter Rd., with funeral service commencing at 11 a.m. Elder Patrick W. Sanders, Sr. officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10 a.m. Friday. Mrs. Morris will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 2 p.m. - 8 p.m., with family present from 5 p.m. - 8 p.m. Thursday. Mrs. Shirley Faye Morris was born on March 27, 1945 the daughter of Eulous and Ella Youngblood in Roland, OR. She graduated from Grans High school. Shirley met and married her beloved husband of 48 years Robert Gene Morris, from this union 3 lovely daughters were born. She was a devoted member of New Jerusalem Full Gospel Baptist Church where she served on the Usher’s Board. Shirley was a very dedicated worker of the Flint Community School system. She loved to shop. Anyone who knew Shirley knew you would find her at her favorite store, Macys, at the make-up counter. She enjoyed spending time with her family and cheering at her grandson’s basketball games. Mrs. Shirley Faye Morris leaves to cherish her memory beloved husband, Robert Gene Morris of Flint; 3 daughters, Felicia (Kevin) Chaney, Lationa (Darryl) Morris, and Nicole (Bryant) Jones; 3 grandchildren, Antwione (Tamara) Morris, Cydni Chaney, and Monte Morris; 2 great-grandchildren, Amarielle and Nyla; sister, Erna Necie (Michael) Cruse of Ft. Smith, AR; 6 brothers, Fred (Marie) Youngblood, and Albatha Youngblood all of Kansas City, KA, Kelly Youngblood of Grans, OK, Eulous (Beverly) Youngblood Jr. of Frederick, MA, Terry (Dorma) Youngblood and Ronnie Youngblood all of Ft. Smith, AR; aunt, Austine Wyatt of Ft. Smith, AR; uncle, Clarence Youngblood of Muldrow, OK; 2 sisters-in-law, Helen (Lovell) Wedgeworth of Seaside, CA and Clara (Thomas) Byrd of University City, TX; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, Mary Buck and Linda Curnow. Mrs. Shirley Faye Morris was preceded in death by her parents, Eulous and Ella Youngblood; sister, Willie Ann Hunt and her grandparents. The family would like to express special thanks to Tiffany Jennings, Shamel Riley, Michelle Washington, and a host of others who loved my wife and our mom.
