DICKERSON, Mrs. Shirley May (Holley) - Age 86, passed away Sunday, June 4, 2023, in Hogansville, Georgia surrounded by her loving and caring family. Family hour 10:00 AM Monday, June 12, 2023, from the sanctuary of Royal Priesthood Ministries, 2518 Delaware Ave., Flint, Michigan 48506., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM. Pastor Harold Britton, Eulogist, Dr. Keith C. Dill, officiating. Interment Great Lakes National Cemetery, G-4200 Belford Rd. Holly, Michigan. Friends and family will assemble at the church 10:00 AM Monday. Mrs. Dickerson will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral and may be viewed from 12:00PM to 4:00PM Sunday with family present from 2:00-4:00PM. Mrs. Shirley May Dickerson was born August 1, 1936 in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Joseph and Mable Holley. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many. Shirley was educated in the Flint Public School System and graduated from Flint Central High School. She worked at General Motors Corporation in the 1960’s. Shirley was an exceptional homemaker. She elevated her ministry as a graduate of Agape Faith Bible School. Shirley was a faithful member of Faith Temple Church Of God In Christ and Agape Faith Fellowship for many years, and Royal Priesthood Ministries was her church home. Her wishes were for her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and all her family to love Jesus and make it to Heaven. Shirley was a dedicated servant of the Lord for most of her life. She was a devout Believer in Jesus Christ, the world was her ministry; she was never afraid to spread the gospel and tell everyone she met about Jesus. Shirley enjoyed cooking, cleaning and was well known for her great cake making and decorating skills. Mrs. Shirley May Dickerson leaves to cherish her memory: 3 daughters, Pastor Cowenda (Apostle Kevin) Jefferson of Hogansville, GA, Pastor Sherri (Pastor Harold W. Sr.) Britton of Flint and Alondra (Taiwan) Garner of Newnan, GA; 2 sons, Charles (Metter) Smith Jr. and Arthur (Jennifer) Dickerson III, all of Flushing, MI; 17 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Mrs. Doris Morris of Flint, Mrs. Othello Buckner of Flushing, MI and Joy Anderson; sisters-in-law, Barbara Holley, Margaret Holley and Doris Dill of Ann Arbor, MI; brother-in-law, Willie (Lillian) Dickerson of Mt. Morris, MI; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Mrs. Dickerson was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Elder Arthur L. Dickerson Jr.; parents, Joseph and Mable Holley; sisters, Kathryn Johnson, Berniece Barnes and Gladys Holley; brothers, Laverne (Berbenia) Holley, Harley (Elizabeth) Holley, Leroy Holley and Foster Holley; and sister-in-law, Thomasene Mabry.
