MIDDLETON, Ms. Sherry J. - age 58, passed away Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at her residence. Family hour 1:30 p.m. Saturday, September 19, 2015 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 2 p.m. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home 1:30 p.m. Saturday. Ms. Middleton will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 12noon-8 p.m. Friday. My name is Ms. Sherry Jean Middleton. I would like to first thank each and every one of you for all the love and support you’ve shown and joining together to celebrate my life, and I would also like to apologize to you for leaving you here on earth but, my work here is done! I received a call; sort of an offer that I couldn’t refuse; for an appointment from which I will not be returning. This assignment came with a huge sign-in bonus, a reunion with family and friends, no more pain, suffering, or worries. To say the least, I’ve achieved greatness! I was born to Willie and Pauline Brown. My journey began in Flint, Michigan, May 8, 1957. There, I grew up with 3 sisters, Lucille, Lynn, and Kim; 3 brothers, Eric, Andre, and Anthony; along with my god-brother, John White. I attended Flint Community Schools, graduating from Flint Northern High School in 1975. Throughout my lifetime I’ve held many jobs, but because of my positive regard for children, I spent the latter part of my life as a Child Care provider for many families throughout the City of Flint, whom I loved dearly. In my 58 years of living on this earth I took great interest in cooking and was proud of my meals. As I would often times ask, “My food was the bomb wasn’t it?” I also loved to shop, travel, attend concerts, play bingo, and go to the casinos. I loved to eat popcorn and drink Faygo Redpop while making up my own personal sayings to help others comprehend what I was saying or to make a point; which may include a curse word or two. My all-time favorite was, “Really though! For real though!” My friends and family meant the world to me, and I truly loved and enjoyed spending every minute I spent with them. I probably should mention I also loved playing “Ace of Spade” on my cellular device too! I was blessed with two of the most loving, caring, giving, admirable, kind-hearted, beautiful daughters; Niecole Middleton and Kelli Evans both of Flint, Michigan. I was also blessed with a gentle, adoring, commendable son; Niecole’s fiancé Alphonso Spearman. I was blessed with 2 grandsons, Donovan Middleton and Dominick Spearman both of Flint, MI; 3 granddaughters, identical twins Ashlynn and London Spearman; River Crutcher; a God-son, James August II. I WAS BLESSED! I am survived by my mother Mrs. Pauline Brown of Flint, MI; 2 daughters Niecole (fiancé Alphonso) Middleton and Kelli Evans of Flint, MI; 1 sister, Kim Middleton of Flint, MI; 3 brothers, Eric Middleton of Phoenix, AZ; Andre (Rosalind) Brown and Anthony (Daronica) Brown both of Flint, MI; 4 aunts, Edna Robinson, Dorthy Flipper both of Flint, MI; Georgia Rae Stephens of Jacksonville, AR, and Rita Waller of Atlanta, GA; 1 uncle, Elton Denson of Flint, MI; a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins, friends, and embraced children Howard Wright, Sandra Wilkes, James McNeil, and Philandis Crutcher; including special friends, Edward Evans II, Gladys Jackson, Tina Possey, Terry Smiley, Lisa Fordham, and Pearline Drake. I was preceded in death by my maternal and paternal grandparents; my father, Willie Brown; 2 sisters, Lucille Denson Middleton and Lynn Brown, granddaughter, River Crutcher; god-parents Leroy and Jewel Ingram; god-brother John White. I transitioned from this world in Flint, Michigan September 8, 2015 peacefully in my sleep. I want you all to be happy that after 58 years I have fought the fight, ran the race, and reached the finish line. I will be waiting for all of you “for real though”…..!!!!
