Mr. Sherman Lee Straham

STRAHAM, Mr. Sherman Lee - Age 80, passed away Saturday, August 3, 2024, at Wellbridge of Fenton. Family hour 10:00 AM Friday, August 16, 2024 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM. Rev. Patrick Sanders II, officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the chapel 10:00 AM Friday. Mr. Straham will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed Thursday, August 15, 2024 from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM. Mr. Sherman Lee Straham was born January 14, 1943 in Shady Grove, Oklahoma, the son of Ernest Sr. and Virgil (Toles) Straham. Sherman graduated from Roland High School. He relocated thereafter to Flint, Michigan in 1966. Sherman began working at General Motors Corporation. He enjoy many family celebrations, attending the Back-to-the-Bricks, watching the Crim Race, baseball games at Berston Field House every Sunday and attending as many Flint & Detroit Auto Shows as possible over the years. Mr. Sherman Lee Straham leaves to cherish his memory: spouse, Quincy Bishop; daughter, Zaniya Janae Straham; adult children, Cynthia Renee’ Straham-Tolbert of Aurora, CO, Delono DeShan Straham of Atlanta, GA, Malik Straham of Orlando, FL and Sherod Hill of Flint; step-children, Charlanda Hill, Reggie Hill, Shawn Alono Hill, Quinillia Hill and Princess Hill, all of Flint; grandchildren, Monica White (Norman) of Richmond, TX, Lydia Tolbert of Aurora, CO, Micheal Tolbert (Keyera) of Renton, WA, Brittany Straham, Jonathath Straham and Summer Straham, all of Atlanta, GA and Marquavius Hill; 12 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Mary Ann Straham (Steve) and Bobbie K. Straham (Amir); brother, Dr. Clarence Clifford Straham; sisters-in-law, Nisha Straham and Lenora; niece, Muriel Straham-Samuels; mother-in-law, Faye Bolton of Flint; a host of other relatives and friends. Mr. Straham was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest Sr. and Virgil (Toles) Straham; brothers, Ernest “Red” Straham Jr. (Lydia), Billy Straham (Lenora), Milton Straham (Nisha), and Willie Curtis Straham; sister, Freddie Strims..
