Mrs. Sherie Ann Burrell

BURRELL, Mrs. Sherie Ann - Age 70, passed away Tuesday, May 2, 2023, at her residence. Family hour 10:30 AM Saturday, May 13, 2023, at House of Prayer Missionary Baptist Church, 1851 W. Carpenter Rd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM Pastor Derrick Aldridge, officiating. Interment Great Lakes National Cemetery, G4200 Belford Rd., Holly, MI. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:30 AM Saturday. Mrs. Burrell will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM Friday with family present from 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM to receive friends. Sherie Ann (Wilson) Burrell, affectionately called “Baby Girl” by her father, made her grand entrance on August 1st, 1952 in Flint, Michigan to her parents Herbert & Alice (Smith) Wilson. Sherie unexpectedly transitioned to her eternal resting place on May 2nd, 2023. Sherie met her devoted husband Welton in 1979 and to that union was born two beautiful daughters, whom she adored. She graduated from Northwestern High School in 1970 and attended Mott Community College. Sherie was employed by Flint Truck & Bus, a division of General Motors Corporation as a Lead Facilitator, where she retired in 2003. She was a longtime devoted and faithful member of 2nd Chance Church and served in various church ministries, where she was known throughout the church for her meticulous & beautiful coordination skills. At one time, she was an active member of the choir, and soon realized that was not her gift, calling, or talent. Sherie loved her Pastor, Derrick Aldridge, and first lady, Lana Aldridge. Sherie was a classy lady, who dressed the part and took pride in her appearance at all times. She was a nurturer and enjoyed time with her grandkids. Because of her fiery personality, Sherie never met a stranger as she would spark up a conversation with anyone. She was also a member of the UAW Local #598, The Golden Hearts, and her neighborhood block club. Sherie was a second mom to many. She loved hosting family events at her home and always opened her home to countless people. Her culinary skills were definitely top tier and many asked for her specialty, caramel cake and banana pudding. She made the best chicken salad, and cornbread dressing and could whip up homemade biscuits, syrup, and salmon croquettes in the spur of the moment. Sherie enjoyed bowling, event planning, interior designing, gardening, shopping, being on the go, and traveling with her husband. She was known to speak her mind (and yours too), and would oftentimes self-appoint herself as the person in charge of any room. There was never a dance floor that she passed up on, and she was truly the life of the party. Sherie was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Alice Wilson; sisters, Earnestine (Tom) Clark, Emma (James) McCloud, Dorothy (Howard) Williams, and Armetine Mabry; brother, DeWayne Wilson; special niece, Valerie McGhee; great-niece, Erikka Donahue; great-nephews, Ralph Wilson Jr., and Spenser Wilson; mother-in-law, Lillie Dyson; sister-in-law, Nadlya Dyson; brother-in-law, Robert Dyson; grandson, Tayvion Crowder; special friends that were dear to her heart, Brenda Moore and Willie Bell; and her beloved grand dog, Theodore Pitts. Sherie Ann Burrell leaves to cherish her memory: husband of 36 years, Welton Burrell; three daughters; Austinéa (Michael) Crowder, Neondra (Cody) Burrell, all of Flint, Michigan, and Gloria Simmons, of Carrollton, Texas; eight grandchildren, Amani Goines, Namiá Crowder, Tay’len Crowder, Baby Boy Burrell-White (expected August 25th), all of Flint, Michigan, JiVana and JiBria Smith, of Carrollton, Texas, De’Montay Crowder, Darion Conliffe; great-grandchild, Samoriah Crowder, all of Flint, Michigan; two brothers, Herbert (Winifred) Wilson Jr. of Lawrenceville, Georgia and Alfred Wilson of Skokie, Illinois; three sisters-in-law, Alisa Carol Dyson of Flint, Michigan, Elaine Alomar of Utah, and Deborah Lenton, of Orlando, Florida; two brothers-in-law, James Richard (Charie) Adams and Jay Dyson, all of Flint, Michigan; special cousin, Doris Henry; many cousins, nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends including special friends, Ella (Charles) McClendon, Rose and Dennis Richmond, Lynda Hoskins, Harriet and Kenneth Scott.
