WELLS, Ms. Sheila - Age 65, passed away Monday, January 12, 2026, at her residence. Family hour 10:00 AM Friday, January 23, 2026, Greater Holy Temple Church Of God In Christ, 6702 Dort Hwy., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM. Bishop Roger L. Jones, officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, 4413 Flushing Rd, Flint, MI. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:00 AM Friday. Ms. Wells will lie in state at Greater Holy Temple Church Of God In Christ and may be viewed from 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM, with family present 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM Thursday. Shelia Rene Wells, lovingly known as “the baby” of the family, was born on November 30, 1960, to Homer and Della Wells. She graduated from Flint Northwestern High School, “Class of 1978,” and later attended Mott Community College, where she earned a degree in Nursing. With a heart for service, Shelia dedicated her entire career to caring for others as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). She retired from Diplomat Specialty Pharmacy. Shelia was known as a “Songbird” both locally and nationally, especially for her unforgettable rendition of “When Jesus Comes” by Sarah Jordan Powell. She was deeply committed to her church, serving faithfully on the Nurse’s Guild and as a member of the choir and the Women’s Department. Family and friends were central to her life, and she cherished every moment spent with her siblings and close circle of friends. Shelia also embraced her love for fashion and proudly referred to herself as a “shopaholic.” Shelia Rene Wells leaves to cherish her memory: her siblings, James (Jeanne) Wells, Elaine Vaughn, Larry (Donna) Wells, Sam (Faye) Wells, Linda Wells, Marsay Wells‑Strozier, and Dondric (Dessi) Wells; brother‑in‑law, Billy Williams; nieces, Kasondra Turner, Shelly (Keith) Hemphill, Ashely Wells, and Tiffany Wells; nephews, Billy Williams Jr., Ed Williams, Sam (Nikki) Wells, Brandon (Rebecca) Wells, and Jason (Ester) Wells; aunts, Stella Malone, Loretta Cannon and Mary Housley; one uncle, Juan Ayuso; special cousin, Phyllis Oliver; god-children, Shayla Banks, Jenasys Freeman, and Niegel Lewis; and god-mother, Mamie Coleman. A host of other relatives and friends including special friends, D’Wanda Hawkins, Mondra Johnson, Carolyn Nolen, Katrina Oliver, Kaleka Lewis, Roxann Jenkins, Robert Cobbs, Larry Cobbs, Dr. Keith Dill, Bobby Hayes, Shelton Banks, Martin Banks, Pam Williams, and Alonzo Betts. Shelia was preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Della Wells; and her grandparents, William and Joe Erma Housley, Payton and Julia Wells; her sister, Marilyn Williams. The family extends heartfelt thanks to Bishop Roger L. and Lady Sandra Jones, the Greater Holy Temple family, Celestine Roberson, Dr. Keith Dill, and Dr. Linda Norell for their love, support, and care. To The Ones I Love I have met some of the most loving, caring, funny, and joyful people throughout my life journey. During this difficult time, it’s challenging to name all of you and thank each of you individually for how much you have poured into my life. I am so grateful for you. So, to my: Childhood Friends: Remember the good times we shared, walking to school together, going to basketball games, and just being kids. I will always love you! Nieces & Nephews: Our family has expanded over the years. I have lived to see a new generation of young Wells’ who have made me proud to be your Aunt Sheila. Continue to prosper, for I will be watching, and cheering for you! Cousins: There’s nothing like family! I’ll miss the breakfast and lunch gatherings, birthdays, weddings, anni-versaries, and family reunions. Continue to love and support one another. I’ll miss you! Godchildren: As you grow older, don’t forget about me, for I will always be thinking of you. Stay focused! To-day there are many distractions designed to hinder your success. If at any time you feel a soft, gentle breeze across your face, it’s just me blowing you a kiss. Friends: Thank you for the joy, laughter, and for being my friend. We’ve shared and created many unforgetta-ble memories over the past 65 years. Continue your journey, and if you need me, I’m only a whisper away. Church Family: You were my spiritual foundation. The rock that gave me strength. The love that encouraged me to sing, and the extended family who loved me unconditionally. Thank you! In-laws: Thank you for being an important part of my life. To my sisters-in-laws, take good care of my broth-ers! Siblings: I’m with daddy, momma, and Marilyn and I’m ok.
