ADAMS, Ms. Sheila Denise - Age 33, passed away Wednesday, September 19, 2018 in Vernon Twp., Michigan. Family hour 10:00 AM Friday, September 28, 2018 at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, 1083 E. Stewart Ave., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:00 AM Friday. Ms. Adams will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12:00 PM - 8:00 PM Thursday. Ms. Sheila Denise Adams transitioned to her heavenly home on Wednesday, September 19, 2018. Sheila was born May 8, 1985 in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Ernest and Linda Adams. Sheila D. Adams received her education through the Flint Community School system, “Class of 2003”. After graduation, she furthered her education at Baker College and later Mott Community College receiving an associate degree. Sheila was employed at Michigan State University as an Assistant Dining Services Manager. Sheila enjoyed spending time with family and friends, as well as doing her own hair, makeup and nails. She was an aspiring author, avid reader and all-around fashionista. Ms. Sheila Denise Adams leaves to cherish her memory: daughter, Jada Emmalee Jones and father of her daughter, James Jones; parents, Ernest and Linda Adams; 2 sisters, Gio’vanna A. Adams of Flint and Nicole Smith of Indianapolis, IN; brother, Antonio Adams; 7 aunts, Glenda “Nese” Nelson and Sherry Richardson, all of Flint, Brenda Nelson, Laila Sundh and Rachel Swan, all of East Lansing, MI, Darlene Nelson of Grand Blanc, MI, and Johnnie May Smith, of Hazelhurst, MS; 5 uncles, John L. (Josephine) Nelson Jr., Alvin Nelson, Edward Nelson, Ronald (Nancy) Nelson, and Deacon Kerry Nelson, all of Flint; great-great aunt, Mrs. Ida Bell Patton, of Texarkana, TX and great-aunt, Mrs. Gussie McKnight, of Grand Rapids, MI; niece, Theresa Smith; nephew, Gerald Smith; special nieces, Bre’Lanee`, La’Onna, and Kai’Toria Richard, all of Flint; host of cousins including special cousins, Roshawnda and Roxie Nelson; many other beloved relatives and special friends including friends, Talisha Roberts, Toni Wilburn, Sarah Davis, Sharnae Marshall and Shamitris Marshall, TaQuia Smith, Tonja Smith, Gayland Moore Jr and the entire Halo Burger family. Ms. Adams was preceded in death by her grandmothers, Lela Mae Adams and Bertha Lee Nelson; grandfathers, Spence Adams and John L. Nelson Sr.; great-uncle, Emitt Williams; and great-great uncle, Holis Patton. The family would like to express special gratitude to first responders: Shiawassee Sherriff Department, Michigan State Police, and Cassie Weir, Lawrence E. Moon and Staff as well as the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church Family.
