JOHNSON, Ms. Sharlet Y. - Age 41, passed away Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at St. Mary Mercy Hospital-Livonia, MI. Family hour 12 p.m. Monday, March 14, 2016 at Great Friendship Azusa C.O.G.I.C., 5165 Detroit St., with funeral service commencing at 1 p.m. Supt. Birdis Shields officiating. Interment Lovedale Memorial Cemetery, G-5175 E. Bristol Rd., Burton, MI. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 12 p.m. Monday. Ms. Johnson will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. Sunday. Ms. Sharlet Y. Johnson was born September 30, 1974 in Flint, Michigan the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Lonnie Jr. and Sharlet Johnson. She attended Flint Community School System, graduating from Flint Northwestern High School, Class of ‘93. Sharlet had a heart of gold and loving helping people. She was a Residential Service Provider and worked for Mentors of Michigan as a Direct Care provider for over 23 years. Sharlet worked as an Assistant Manager for 5 years before being promoted to Manager, holding this position for 7 years. She accepted Christ as her savior at a young age. Sharlet was a long time member of Hands of God Ministry, under the leadership of Pastor’s Le and Tanya Bailey. She loved to travel and would be sure to do so multiple times a year. Sharlet could cook everything. Her favorites were fried chicken and Lasagna. Sharlet and Jahmier had appetites to match. She loved to go bowling, play ‘Lazer Tag’, shoot pool and play board games, especially Shoots-N-Ladders. Ms. Sharlet Y. Johnson leaves to cherish her memory: her son, Jahmier Joseph Johnson of Flint; parents, Lonnie Jr. and Sharlet Johnson; sisters, Josephine and Jill Johnson, Tamara Clemons, Lonnial Williams, Linda Georgette, Christine Rozier and Amanda Murray; brothers, Lonnie and Lydell Johnson, and Anthony Rozier; nieces, Jaz’Unique, Alonni and Jolanda Johnson, Rayshawna Moultrie, TyKeyia Clemons, Nyanna Poole, and a host of others; nephews, Orlando Poole, Dasani Tyson, Lonnie Jr., Jaquaviese, Rashamere, and Delonnie Johnson, a host of others; aunts, Mary Franklin, Clara Turner, Linda Byrd, Judith Pruitt, Mildred Miller, Vernita Wood, Deloris Williams, and Annie Yarber; uncles, Jeff Johnson and Billy Powell; cousins, Keith and Derick Black, Floyd Perkins, Jr., Angel Burgis, Landers Pruitt, Angela Royster and April McGruder; mother and father-in-law, Janet Kelly-Ballard and Nate Laury; sisters-in-law, LaRisa Ballard and Ebony Smith; a host of other relatives and friends including god-children, Sheila, Dominque and Christopher Thompson, Eisha Terrell, Brandi Loyal and Jontavis “JT” Dent. Ms. Johnson was preceded in death by her grandparents, Mabel and Jimmy Powell, Josephine and Lonnie Johnson, Jr.; sister, Sherita Hobson; brothers, Ronald Hobson and Lonnie Johnson III; and nephew, Lonnie J.
