HARDMAN, Mrs. Sereatha M. "Sweet" - Age 83, madeher transition from labor to her reward, Thursday, February 17, 2011 at Avalon Hospice. Family hour 11 a.m. Thursday, February 24, 2011 at New Zion Baptist Church, 1601 Chippewa St., with funeral service commencing at 11:30 a.m. Rev. W.G. Terry, Pastor, Rev. Dr. K.D. Yarber officiating, Rev. Jacob Hawkins presiding. Interment Flint Memorial Park Cemetery, G-9506 N. Dort Hwy. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 11 a.m. Thursday. Mrs. Hardman will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 3-8 p.m. Wednesday. Mrs. Sereatha Hardman “Sweet” was born May 4, 1927 in Clarksdale, Mississippi. Mrs. Hardman accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of New Zion Missionary Baptist Church for over fifty years. She sang in the young adult Choir and served as President of the Usher Board, President of the Deaconess, and as Youth director, for more than 15 years. Mrs. Hardman served as Chairman of the Kitchen Committee for many years and was the Church Clerk for over forty years until her illness. She leaves to cherish her memory: five daughters, Flora (Capus) Robinson Sr., Bonnie Johnson, Shirley (Dr. Kim D.) Yarber all of Flint, Rosemary (Harvey) Green, and Carolyn Conyers, both of Little Rock, AR; one son, Leandrew (June) Hardman of Flint; ;sister-in-law, Alice Hardman; grandchildren, Sayeeda (Nathaniel) Bennett of Lockhart, TX, Baheegha (Derrick) Horton of Flint, Jedidah (Karim) York, Ayeesha (Gerald) Green, Abdul Shabazz of Austin, TX, Nikki Hardman of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Ruquayya Shabazz of Austin, TX, Leshana Hardman of Austintown, OH, Leandrew Hardman Jr., of Flint, Mishari Hardman of Ft. G. Terry, and Mrs. Lucy Stinson. Mrs. Hardman was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Leo Hardman; and mother, Flora Lee Camp.
