Mrs. Segrid "Ann" Rankin

RANKIN, Mrs. Segrid "Ann" - Age 74, passed away Monday, January 22, 2024 at her residence. Family hour 10:30 AM Saturday, February 3, 2024 at House of Prayer Baptist Church, 1851 W. Carpenter Rd., Pastor Rodney Williams, officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:30 AM Saturday. Mrs. Rankin will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd. and may be viewed Friday, February 2, 2024 from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM. Mrs. Segrid Ann Rankins began her journey of life on August 26, 1949, in Fordyce, Arkansas. She was of the fifth child of the late Arthur and Cleola Brown. She attended and graduated from the Calhoun County School District in 1967 in Thornton, AR. Mrs. Rankins was baptized and accepted Christ at an early age. Upon graduation she moved to Flint, MI and worked as a Pharmacy Technician. She was later employed with General Motors Corporation for many years and then retired. After retiring she then became a Licensed Cosmetologist. Her strong beliefs of Jesus Christ lead her to become a member of the 2nd Friendship Missionary Baptist Church. She served on the Usher Board and various axillaries for many years. Segrid later joined House of Prayer Missionary Baptist Church where she was on the Usher Board and a Dynamic Cook on the Kitchen Committee. Her passion cooking, dressing to impress, traveling and spending time with friends and family. Mrs. Rankins was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Henry “The Workhorse” Rankin and to this union were born two sons. Mrs. Segrid Ann Rankins leaves to cherish her precious memories to: three sons, Henry “Duane” (Janice) Rankin, DeAndre Rankin both, of Flint MI and Curtis Davis of Waynesboro, MS; four daughters, Bernice (Ervin) Jordan and Carolyn Howard, both of Waynesboro, MS, Tawana Howard of Shubuta, MS And Glendina (Vernon) Martin of Columbus, GA; eighteen grandchildren, Jasmyn, Jaron, Henry, Nicole, Jalen, Elijah, Alban, Ocion, LaShala, Kiara, LaRicho, Chavarius, Yvaes, Yaresia, Dollie, William, Kayla and Kurtrell; fifteen great-grandchildren; four sisters, Alma (Curtis) Mitchell, Bobby (William) Davis, Donnie Currie, all of Flint, MI and Lena (Lewis) Tolbert of Clarksville, TN; two brothers, Charles (Ethel) Brown and Ricky Brown, both of Flint, MI; special cousin/son, David Brazil; special nieces, Lisa Rice and Verlean Gaines; special cousins, Dorothy Sanders, Doris Moore, Rita, Jennifer & Michael, her graduating C/O ’67 and many-many-many special nieces and nephews. Mrs. Rankins was preceded in death her parents, Arthur and Ceola Brown; six sisters, Nette, Versie, Hattie, Loucille, Lorea and Arlene; four brothers, Thomas, James, John D and Collin Brown.
