JOHNSON, Mr. Secreater, Sr. - Age 77, passed away Thursday, July 10, 2008 at his residence. Family hour 11AM Thursday, July 17, 2008 at King Solomon Missionary Baptist Church, 2200 W. Coldwater Rd., with funeral service commencing at 12Noon, Pastor Seldon J. Williams, Jr. officiating. Interment River Rest Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 11AM Thursday. Mr. Johnson will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 1PM-8PM Wednesday. Mr. Secreater “Bo” Johnson, Sr., was born September 13, 1930 in Sherill, Arkansas, the son of Henry and Luella Johnson. Mr. Johnson was a member of King Solomon Missionary Baptist Church. He was a beloved husband of 57 years, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather, brother, and friend. Mr. Johnson was a Veteran of the U. S. Army serving in the Korean Conflict. He retired from Chevrolet MFG with 33 years of service and was a member of UAW Local #659. Mr. Johnson enjoyed working on cars, dancing, eating fish and eating sweets. He loved spending time with family and friends, especially his grandchildren. Mr. Johnson leaves to cherish his memory: devoted wife, Geraldine Johnson; children, Carolyn Horne, Linda (Robert) Dunnom, Diane Johnson, Larry Johnson, Patsy Leeper, and Brenda (Gary) Greene; 17 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter; sisters, Willie Mae Ben of Los Angeles, CA, Juanita (Merlin) Norman of Compton, CA and Mary Ann Cobbs of Little Rock, AR; brothers, Cleamon (Allene) Johnson and Levon Johnson of Los Angeles, CA, Leon (Linda) Johnson of Moreno Valley, CA and Gene (Hattie) Wilkins of Memphis, TN; a host of other relatives and friends including special friend, Alga Wallace. Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his parents; son, Secreater Johnson, Jr.; daughter, Ernestine Johnson; sisters, Loreen Dowd and Kahleelah Muhammad; and great-granddaughter, MyAngel Johnson. The family would like to express special thanks to Gentivia Health Services, Valley Area Agency on Aging, visiting physicians, the King Solomon Missionary Baptist Church family, Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church family and friends.
