Mr. Scott Allen Bard-Mansur

BARD-MANSUR, Mr. Scott Allen- Age 67, passed away Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at his residence. Family hour, 10:00 AM Saturday, August 8, 2026, at Grace Emmanuel Baptist Church, 3502 Lapeer Rd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM, Pastor Rabon Turner, officiating. Interment Flint Memorial Park Cemetery, G-9506 N. Dort Hwy, Mt. Morris, MI. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the Church 10:00 AM Saturday. Mr. Bard-Mansur will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd. and may be viewed from 12:00 PM-6:00 PM, with family present to receive friends from 4:00 PM-6:00 PM. Scott Allen Bard-Mansur was born December 13, 1958, to Jehan Mansur (formerly John Jones, Jr.) and Bobbie Bard in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Scott attended Pierson and Dailey elementary schools, Holmes Junior High, and graduated from Flint Northwestern “Class of 1977,” where he participated in the marching band. His saxophone skills earned a scholarship to Kentucky State University, and later at Grambling State University. Scott accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Canaan Baptist Church. His contributions to church choirs in the area from then until his passing are well-known. Scott was employed by General Motors Delphi for 26 years, before launching his many entrepreneurial enterprises. He was also known for his flair for fashion and styled many local fashionistas - clothing and hats - through his work with Gabe’s Boutique and M&M Boutique. Scott also had the pleasure of styling The Whitfield Company, Terrell Carter, Millie Jackson, Ann Nesby, Charlie Wilson, and Aretha Franklin. Most recently Scott spent time mentoring young people through the YouthQuest Program of the Flint & Genesee Group before moving to International Academy of Flint/Vision Tours. He was also Chief Operating Officer of Brighter Futures of America – a non-profit benefitting local children. Scott was able to spread his vocal wings both nationally and internationally sharing his gift with Herman Robinson, the Thomas Whitfield Company, Donald Lawrence, Vanessa Bell Armstrong, Jennifer Holiday, Vicki Winans, Rudolph Stanfield, Jeffrey LaValley, Voices of Patty LaBelle, Jill Scott, and Gospel Music Workshop Choirs to name a few. One of his shining accomplishments was co-leading “Let Everything Praise Him,” on the TWC album Alive & Satisfied. More than anything, Scott loved his family and enjoyed every opportunity to spend time with them. He had an amazing memory and was the go-to for family history. He had a way of making each person feel as though they were his favorite person on earth. He was in the midst of planning the next family reunion for another opportunity to sit, laugh, share stories, tell jokes, and share more of his signature phrases. He will truly be missed. Scott Allen Bard-Mansur leaves to cherish his memory: mother, Bobbie Bard and father, Jehan Mansur of Grand Blanc, MI; sisters, Terry (Will) Jones-Noble, Danielle Bard both of Flint, MI, Alissa (Michael) Bard-Hooks of Grand Blanc, MI, and brother Resheid Jackson Sr. of Arlington, TX; nieces and nephews, Anthony (Tony) Mansur-Jones, Taji Mansur-Jones, Aaliyah Bard, Bryanna Bard-Wilson, Michael Hooks, and Matthew Hooks; great-nieces and nephews, Azarie, Marquez, and Marquan Crawford, Bryson and Bryer Brewer, Jaquail and Jaylan Jones, and True Jones; Aunts, Martha Bard of Grand Blanc, MI, Mary Harriford of Houston, TX, Mary (John) King of Gary, IN, Corine Joseph of Suffolk, VA. He also leaves numerous beloved cousins including Charlotte Scott, Regina Shannon, Trina Jones and life-long friends, George (Jill) Hamilton, Carlos Edmonds-Lewis, and Demetrius Keener. Scott was preceded in death by his father, Wallace R. Bard; grandparents, Robert and Mattie Coleman, John H. Sr. and Effie Jones; sister, Kimberly Jones-Ruffin; aunt, LaVerne Dawkins; uncles, Arthur Bard, Robert Coleman Jr. and James Dawkins; niece, La’Trice Jones; and cousins, Aretha Jones and Bryan Coleman. The family would like to express special thanks to Pastor Rabon Turner, the Grace Emmanual church family, and the staff of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home.
