VAUGHN, Ms. Sandra Dell - Age 73, passed away Friday, September 5, 2025, at her residence. Family hour 10:00 AM Saturday, September 20, 2025, at Grace Emmanuel Baptist Church, 3502 Lapeer Rd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM Pastor Rabon Turner, officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:00 AM Saturday. Ms. Vaughn will be viewed during the family hour only. Sandra Dell Vaughn is the vibrant and fun-loving middle child of Mendell and Katie Vaughn. Sandra’s siblings Marilynn and Mendell Vaughn Jr. have always jokingly labeled her as being the favorite child of their father and a proud spoiled daddy’s girl but her spoiled nature never overshadowed her heart. The core within her was deeper than the widest ocean. Sandra graduated from Southwestern Academy of Flint and although she attended Mott Community College to pursue nursing, she went on to be a General Motors employee and retired after 30 years in good standing with the UAW Local 651 When at work, home, with family or close friends Sandra was always the light of every atmosphere. She was deeply cherished and loved by anyone who entered her life and was touched by her passionate and sensitive nature. Sandra Lived a full life and most enjoyed quality time with loved ones, traveling, live music and hitting a winning number! After three failed attempts Sandra birthed an extension of her heart with Derrick Williams known as God’s special child Sharene Williams. Approximately six months ago Sandra was proceeded in death by her lifelong partner of over 30 years, Keith Sweeney. The love they shared was a living testimony to the pure nature, honor and fierce commitment of Sandra’s spirit. Keith would always say “ I will never leave Sandra simply because she is the nicest person I have ever met.” We believe Sandra was so heartbroken when God took Keith home…she could no longer bear the pain. God was merciful because they were inseparable in life and not long after they are now inseparable in death. Sandra is survived by her Mother Katie Mae Vaughn, Sisters Marilynn Kay Vaughn and Sunsay Meleka, Brothers Mendell Vaughn Jr and Roscoe Holifield, Daughter Sharene Williams. Nieces Cherisse Bradley, Kalaiah and Merinda Vaughn. Nephew, Earnest Brake. Uncles, Joe, Bobby, and Tommy Blythe, Aunts, Mary Broadnax, Christine Richards, and Joan Terry. Cousins, Keena, Tonya and Renee Blythe, Anthony, Alicia, and Caprice Terry, Dianna Eubanks, Val Perry Mabry. Tena Moss, Dennis and Kim Perry, LaRue and Johnalisa Broadnax, Georgia Lee Howard, Best friends, Brenda Brown and Deza Hatter, along with a host of other family members and close friends. She is proceeded in death by life partner Keith Sweeney. Father, Mendell Vaughn. Grandparents, Rosetta and Albert Blythe, Georgia, and Dennis Vaughn. Uncles, Willie Kerr, Jerome, Clyde, and Billy Blythe, Aunt, Modena Wilson, Elizabeth Perry, Kalma Henderson, Kathern Scott, Cousins, Brian Scott, Lonnie Vaughn, Sheila Sebastian, Yanni and Jerry Richards, Rosie and Keeomie Blythe. As the family of Sandra Vaughn we are deeply shocked, saddened and forever changed by the sudden transition of our favorite “Sandy”. We truly thought we had more time. We will never forget her and always celebrate the unconditional love she gave us. May we all learn a lesson from her giving and sacrifices… as it is the way God continues to love us despite ourselves. We love Sandy. No more pain. You can finally rest and be with your other loved ones… Until we meet again.
